[reflection] Sometimes life is best served simplified.
Birthdays are often a time of reflection of where you are at in life and to reinforce good vibes further.
It's good to have gratitude for those close and also those who contribute from afar. This year was a nice chance to gather up the Wisecrue members and encourage a same-page-ness amongst the group.
In the comfort of home it's also a bonus to allow those present to catch the connectivity that occurs when in a creative environment and amongst friends who come together for a common purpose. As makeshift of a studio as it is that sits in the back end of the Ilumin household, there was still plenty of love and smiles generated through this momentary coming together.
Like Black Ilumin comments: "You can write lyrics and say it out loud - but it's different when it's for a live recording. It becomes more like an inner performance, where you are your own audience. You are hearing yourself - you are watching yourself and your breathing - no one is going to assist you with the song or the delivery..." and "it's just nice to have people over to your home & have them feel good"
Yes.
So as simple as the exercise was, it was exactly that - an exercise in being together, and of being with oneself whilst doing what you enjoy most.
Sometimes simple is better.
