I like it too I'm not gon lie but sometimes I don't feel this show. Idk it's like something is missing. I was expecting something more bloody and serious since is Marvel.. Ben need to hit he gym asap... Flash is a more fit/muscular than how Ben looks. That's his name right ? Ben? Lol

I think the producers were trying to do counter point to Arrow (I haven’t watched) which is supposed to be really gritty and w/e? The Flash is supposed to be slightly more light hearted and less jaded. Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen, I think is a good choice. I mean yeah he’s not all that muscle-y or blonde but he can be charming when he wants to be (like when he’s not lying to Iris or is excited about science and friendship and family).

What i hate about Flash is that the show is a Lil corny. It's almost pg13 or is it ?

I mean since it’s CW they want to keep it somewhat clean and upbeat I guess? I like the corny bits tbh honest. I mean I like them a lot better than Iris getting lied to and gaslighted.

Except when it comes to his refusal to fight women who need to be taken down, it’s women that get hurt. Sanji could have beat Kalifa without a single injury to himself, but but not breaking his code was more important to him than helping free Robin and prevent her from being taken to Impel Down, so instead Nami had to fight for him

And the same went for when Sanji insisted to Zoro that he not hurt Monet, which he didn’t and also allowed Tashigi to fight her instead, something she only stepped up to do because Zoro had been refusing to attack her the entire time they’d been fighting.

*CRACK CRUNCH* Those are the sounds of Monet biting through the bones in Tashigi’s shoulder. Try to imagine how unbelievably painful that is, because I can’t.

Sanji’s refusal to hit women who need to go down to save the lives of the people around them and his insistence that other men do the same doesn’t prioritize the well being of women in any way, and results in more women being hurt than if the men involved just did the damn jobs themselves. The women they refuse to hurt still get hurt, and the women who are tasked with fighting them to make up for the men’s refusal get hurt in addition. Sanji’s not helping women at all, just protecting his own misguided sense of chivalry so he doesn’t have to get his own hands dirty, something he’s willing to let women get hurt to protect. With Tashigi’s fight it was especially bad, since at least Nami defeated Kalifa on her own. With Tashigi, she had to step up because the man in the room wouldn’t, got defeated and almost killed, and then had to be saved by the same man who she had to step up to cover. She was both unnecessarily put in harms way, and then had to be saved for it.

Did anyone actually expect Sanji to stand a chance in hell though? If Sanji was able to fight on par with or defeat Doflamingo, it would have been pretty bullshit, and taken most of all the suspense out of the rest of the arc for Luffy and Law's showdown with him. I had a conversation with Paty about all this people can read here, and in my opinion the Straw Hats are still massive underdogs. A lot of people seem to feel that Luffy and Zoro, right now at this point in time, are already capable of defeating the Admirals in 1 on 1 fights, and honestly if they are it would make me so disappointed and take so much of the suspense out of the story. One of the best parts about the story is that the Straw Hats have always had the risk of actually losing their battles. That's what gives them suspense. I'm going to quote myself from that post I linked to above:

Luffy lost to Crocodile twice before he beat him once, and was still almost killed by his poison (and would have been if it weren’t for Robin), he lost to Aokiji, he lost (they all lost) to Kuma, he lost to Magellan, and he lost a whole lot at Marineford. One Piece is not a manga where the protagonists always win, and I wouldn’t want the time skip to have changed this.

I'm not only expecting the Straw Hats to lose again as they travel through the New World, I'm hoping they do. Kuma's showdown with Zoro on Thriller Bark, and Kuma dispersing the Straw Hats on Sabaody were two of the most nail-biting and emotional scenes in the entire story, and they're times the Straw Hats were crushed. The idea that the Straw Hats are going to go through the New World and beat every single one of the Admrials and Yonkou in 1 on 1 fights without ever losing again is one of the most boring things I can imagine happening in this story. Oda has stated in his recent interview in Taiwan that he expects One Piece to continue for around 10 more years. Oda puts out an average of 44.4 chapters a year, so that means we can expect around 440 more chapters of One piece. That is plenty of time for the Straw Hats to have fights they lose and still move forward, and get much much stronger as they go.

I've been expecting them to fight Doflamingo together for a long time now. I've been expecting it both because they both want to defeat him themselves, and because I'm not confident either of them could do it alone. Law is stronger than Sanji, and Law got his ass kicked by Doflamingo every bit has hard as Sanji did, only landing a single cut on Doflamingo's cheek their whole fight before getting pelted into the ground outside the Colosseum and shot 3 times in the chest. And Luffy too, came out swinging in 2nd Gear against Doflamingo, and Doflamingo blocked it with no problem, slashed Luffy in the back, punched him in the face, and tossed him out into the street without breaking a sweat. Luffy's had even worse first showings against villains and still won in the end, but Doflamingo is more powerful and more built up than any villain Luffy has ever had to defeat before. Neither Law nor Luffy is backing down from this fight. Could you imagine either one of them standing on the sidelines while the other fights Doflamingo? Hell no. Unless Trebol comes along and forces one of them to fight him instead, there's no way either of them are going to miss out on fighting Dofla.

I'm also hoping that this arc sets a precedent that the Straw Hats will be willing to fight together against major enemies, like the Yonkou and Admirals. I'd very much like to see Luffy fight side by side with Jinbe or Kid or the other Supernovas against the likes of Big Mom and Kaidou.

I think there's a good chance. He's already lost 3 of them along the way, so that shows that Zoro's swords are one thing Oda is not afraid to kill off.

I think him loosing and replacing his Sandai Kitetsu is the most likely (that's the cursed one he got back in Loguetown), and it's of a lower grade than Zoro's other two swords. Here are the quality rankings for famous swords in One Piece (you can find this info here on the Wiki):

The 12 Saijo O Wazamono Grade Swords (Supreme Grade)

The 21 O Wazamono Grade Swords (Great Grade)

The 50 Ryo Wazamono Grade Swords (Skillful Grade)

Zoro's Wado Ichimonji and Shusui swords (from Kuina and Ryuma) are both Great Grade swords (2nd highest category), while his cursed sword from the shop at Loguetown is in the Wazamondo Grade category, the lowest category for famed swords. Of course, this is assuming that the reason Zoro will loose one of his swords is so that he can get an even better one. But if Oda wants to hurt us (and Zoro), then there's a chance he could lose Shusui or Wado Ichimonji. Loosing Kuina's sword would really hurt, and that's why if Zoro does loose it, I could only imagine that it would happen during his final battle and victory over Mihawk. Loosing the sword but winning the fight would be a really emotionally potent combination...

Just read the manga and Zoro is proving that he is almost at Luffy's level. Man Sanji have so much to proof. Just look at what Zoro just did. He able to cut a mountain now? Can't wait to see what else he can do.

Sanji really does seem to be quite a ways behind the two of them, not necessarily in strength, but definitely in accomplishments. I’m sure there’s not that huge of a gap between how strong the three of them are, but so far Zoro’s got to effortlessly defeat the octo-swordsman, non-roid rage Hody (underwater too), Monet, and now it seems like he’s about to do the same with Pica. Sanji, on the other hand… got his leg fractured by Vergo, kicked in the face by Violet (not an actual fight, but still) and almost slaughtered by Doflamingo.

The big fight at the end of Fishman Island is the only time Zoro’s worn his headscarf since the time skip at all, I think. So yeah, it’s been getting neglected a whole lot after the time skip.

I'm actually pretty passionately on the side that they're not strong themselves. I'm sure they're stronger than most people in the world, but a lot of people have the idea that because they run the World Government, they must also be the strongest people in the entire World Government, the Marine Admirals included. I've written about this before here and here, and I still think that there's no need for the Gorosei to be strong.

I overuse this analogy, but the World Government is different from a pirate crew, where the strongest person gets to be in charge. Cobra didn't need to be strong to rule Alabasta, and Spandam didn't need to be strong to run CP9 (and neither did his father). Wapol needed to be strong to rule Drum Island, because the entire population of his kingdom hated him and wanted him gone, but the World Gov. isn't like that. The Marines, the Ciper Pol agencies, Impel Down, the member nations around the world--all of them serve the World Government because they believe in the institution, its power, its mission, and its legitimacy. Every single member of the Gorosei could be weaker than a 5 year old child, but at a single word from them the entire force of the Marines would march to any war they were ordered to. Whether or not they're strong, they have unparalleled power.

But there's still so much we don't know about them--how they came to power, what their relationship to the Celestial Dragons is, what their names are--and I can't wait to find out. The Reverie is coming up and I expect to see them during that, and the Straw Hats are going to keep becoming bigger threats, another Shichibukai is going to fall soon, and after that even Big Mom or Kaidou could be defeated, the Revolutionary Army is continuously plotting their big move to overthrow the World Gov.... all those are huge politically important things, and as the magnitude of the events in OP continue to rise, I think we're going to see the Gorosei more often.

Back to the thing about how strong they are quickly tho, I really do hope they're not Admiral-level powerhouses. It's a way overused shouen thing that the guy in charge always has to be the strongest, and I really like the idea that the Gorosei are ultimately just old men on a throne, ruling the world with their words, and not because each one of them is strong enough to punch a mountain to dust.
