Asha and Valentino sketch concept for fan sequel
Wish 2 Ideas: Valentino and the Island of Talking Animals
So do you this part of the ending of Wish?
Valentino: I dream of a utopian metropolis where all mammals are equal, and wear clothes!
Well, I have an idea for this and recently people have been doing either rewrites or even down right a sequel to it. So here's my idea for a Wish sequel and I'll be using this Disney film for this.
So for those you who have seen this film, you know that a wizard named Astrof was using magic to make animals act more like humans, but the animals rebeled and killed him and taking all his stuff including the star, and the animals found a ship and headed off and eventually ended up on an island that would later be know as The Island of Naboombu.
Now what does all this has to do with this Wish idea you thought of, well my headcanon for not only Wish, but for Disney as a whole is the Island of Naboombu would eventually become Zootopia itself, and it was all because of a talking goat wearing pajamas.
So my idea is that Valentino would have washed up on the island (how you may wonder? I'm still figuring that out.) But would be would eventually meet the king, that being King Leonidas I.
As you see in this image he has the Star of Astrof in a staff of sorts and his royal cape made of jungle leaves after all they are slowly starting as society of some sorts, and with Valentino in the picture, he who teach the king and the rest of the animals on the island about his knowledge of human society and help them out.
Asha, Star (possibly in his human form) and Asha's friends also arrive on the island to find Valentino, but there's one little problem, "HUMANS ARE NOT ALLOWED". So how are they gonna fine Valentino if humans aren't allowed on the island? They turned into animals themselves
(Drawings Coming Soon)
And when Asha finds her goat, she told him come back with her, however Valentino refused and that he wants to stay and help these animals out on building there society.
That's all I got for right, what do you guys think, do you like this idea or not, let me know in the comments down below.
In my Wish 2 concept, Sabino give Asha his lute as a gift before he passed away, which she clings onto.
During a ball celebrating Rosas' anniversary, Asha pressures herself to perform on stage with the lute but the high expectations she sets herself up to causes her to mess up.
At the climax where she and her friends are almost defeated by Magnifico, Asha plays the lute with her saba's spirit in her heart as she's able to perform magic without her wand, using her newly acquired magic powers to stop Magnifico (would be a fun gag that Magnifico gets defeated by music).
At the end, she retires the lute, finally moved on from her saba's passing as she goes to spread his gift to inspire others with her own gift.
WISH sequel idea
Disney sequels have this reputation of being cheap cash grabs using nostalgia as bait. At least according to the internet. You see, I actually grew up watching the straight to DVD sequels a lot more than the first films and honestly didn't give a crap about the quality then and now. They're just harmless films made for the kids who have seen the first movies. The recent sequels on the other hand, are an entirely different story.
They just don't have the charm the DVD sequels have. With the exception of Rescuers Down Under, the official WDAS sequels, excluding Pixar, that were released in theaters all have this problem where their stories feel unnecessary and are just there to expand an already fine setting.
So, why am I bringing up a Wish sequel? Cuz why not. I like to workshop ideas and sharing them. I don't actually want a sequel, it is too soon for one. But for now, I like to make up one.
Since Wish is an homage to the classical and renaissance periods, why not have a Wish sequel take cues for the DVD films? Without the low quality of course.
As for the premise, it takes place years after the first film. Rosas has became prosperous as ever since Amaya was in charge. The citizens have advanced in many skills as more people came to Rosas while others leave to explore the world outside the kingdom.
Asha is now working as Amaya's personal assistant and takes her job seriously. Amaya assigns Asha to help grant a citizen's wish with her wand but not want to use magic too much as she's still training how to carefully use it, an homage to Aurora using a wand in that Disney Princess short.
After some shenanigans with magic, Asha ponders how Rosas has finally changed for the better but also worries how good change can effect things differently. Like her friends drifting apart once they have their own aspirations to pursue.
One night, a shooting star crashes onto Rosas. Asha thought it was her Star but it was something else. Someone had made a bad wish and that star is determined to grant it.
Fearing for the worse, Asha and Amaya free Magnifico from his mirror prison as he's the only one with knowledge about magic to locate the wisher to stop to them. Of course, Magnifico is disheveled and has lost his magic resulted from him getting trapped in his staff.
So the film is a roadtrip style of story where Asha and Magnifico travel outside of Rosas.
Some shenanigans involve the disheveled Magnifico trying to steal Asha's wand and failing and being miserable for not having magic and being treated like a lowly peasant.
Of course, it's not a modern Disney film with a sympathetic villain. Magnifico teaches Asha how to use her wand as he reminisces about his old past l, a powerless nobody who lost his home.
Turns out their destination was Magnifico's old home. The evil Star attacks them and just when Asha has trusted Magnifico, he betrays her and takes her wand for himself. He abandons her in the ruined village as he swiftly returns to Rosas for revenge.
Asha, and a companion or more that came with her have their darkest hour moment as Asha realizes the bad wish was hers, she did not want her friends to move away especially since Sabino has already passed, admitting that she's selfish for not wanting to be alone again. Her companions comfort her.
Basically the theme is about the acceptance of growing apart from your friends and family as you pursue your dreams. With the film's theme about supporting each other to pursue your aspirations, why not have the sequel be about people with opposing aspirations growing apart.
With a macguffin, they quickly return to Rosas to stop Magnifico. Either he turns to stone or is resealed back into his staff.
Asha confronts the evil star, telling them that she doesn't need them anymore, which the star understands and returns to the aky.
After a brief timeskip, Asha, now an expert in magic departs from Rosas to different kingdoms to find and help those in need.
