JUNE IS BLACK MUSIC MONTH, #4. The Temptations, Wish It Would Rain. Smokey Robinson produced, last album with “the original lineup” (Marj likes to watch that TV movie about the Temptations when it’s on, which turns out is fairly often, and I catch parts of it). Learned that the writer of the title track later took his life over losing the girl he wrote the song about which makes it even sadder. It’s always interesting to hear these well-known songs in their original album context with “lesser,” non-greatest-hits.
