I hope this is okay, I need some advice. I sell readings on etsy, and I have one customer who gives me the creeps. She's overly familiar with me, seems to revolve her life around the readings, uses familial terms with me, and all in all, I dread when she orders a new reading. But I don't know what to do about it.
So I touched on this a bit in this post: https://barberwitch.tumblr.com/post/171128500601/conflicting-emotions-and-clients-there-are-times
But what it boils down to and taking your situation into account you just need to be honest with them.
You don’t feel you can provide the service, so I suggest just heading it off and messaging them directly with something like this:
Hello there, I’ve gotten to know you relatively well over the course of these past few readings, but as I’ve gone deeper in depth with them, it’s taken a toll on myself. At this point, I don’t think continuing our business relationship is the best course of action both for my health, and the clarity of readings you e come to expect. With that said, if you require tarot services, I suggest reaching out to *insert person* as I think they may be a better fit for your needs.I hope you understand and I just want you to receive the best service possible and I don’t think that I’m in the place to deliver that for you.Thank you, truly for your support and trust, I do appreciate it, but also, please respect my decision.
Sincerely,Lovely anonymous stranger
Best way to go about this is to have a suggestion for a replacement. Someone with either a similar reading style or someone who’s able to handle it. In the need, the client will decide who to go with next, but with these situations, you do you part by suggesting an alternative. (I’m more than willing to take your place. Nothing surprises me anymore 😉)
Good luck, let me know if I can help with anything else.
🦇Cheers, Barberwitch
