Ok right, so, the American Girl Elphaba doll. I feel like I have to at least address this one since you all know of my fondness for green girls. I admit--I thought about it. Like genuinely considered. For all of two minutes. Possibly three. Mainly because, to the best of my knowledge, this is the first and only time AG has ever featured a fantasy skintone, green or otherwise. And she is very green. I'd love to have her in my collection.
But the price. $300. Three. Hundred. Doll. Hairs. Abso-flipping-lutely not. The only time in my life I ever spent anywhere close to that amount on a single doll was back in the early 2000s during my brief foray into BJDs. This doll is not even remotely good enough to tempt me back into that price bracket. It would be beyond irresponsible for any number of reasons.
So no, barring some earth-shatteringly low discount I will not be acquiring this doll. May end up consoling myself with a 1/6th Elphie (she could hang out with the Venus crew), or maybe one (or both) of the new Our Generation LE Halloween dolls XD
