I’m very awful at selfies and I took a bunch at different angles to try to capture my look so sorry for multiple pictures. I think I am a very seasonal naturey witch so I tried to go for a summer floral fae look. I really stuck out cause the vast majority of everyone there was in all black so here I was with sparkling highlighter glitter and flowers and shit haha. People (non-witches) asked me if I was a ‘good witch’ and on the ‘good side’ and I’m like.. uhh.. not really. Like its all very subjective. I am on the side of nature but depending on your viewpoint thats not inherently good since I love when nature does shit like sprouts plants through gravel and grows vines through walls, and maybe damages greedy bourgeoisie's property from natural disasters (though poor people suffer from that more so that doesn’t always make me feel great). Anyway this was my look. Not as extra as I could have been but I would say extra-casual lol.
Sooo how did you spend Lugnasadh/Lammas? ❤ Actually I wanted to bake a bread but unfortunately I realized I don’t have all the ingredients. So, I made a cake instead :) it’s a recipe from my mom but of course it didn’t taste as good as hers :D I also took a walk at our cemetery next door because I love all the flowers and the silence. And now I’m gonna burn an incense just to relax 🌸🌿
I hope you all have a nice day, with or without a Lammas celebration 😉💕
oh yes! Any NYC based witches there is gonna be this big ass witch festival near Astor place this Saturday! I forgot to make a post about it, like every witch I know is about to be up in that place. I went last year to a witch festival and I was like. meh. But I met a lot of witchy friends there and this year like everyone is going (also I think its a new event hosted by new people so its not the same as last year) so its about to be a big ass block party with group rituals, a bajillion crystals, dancing in the street, the corniest flyers for magical courses and witch circles with the CORNIEST graphic design on them, stalls for candles and ritual items that are over priced, cool witchy jewelry that looks like typical 90s grunge wear but with pentagrams and moon crescents on them, the crazy people that holler about jesus with picket signs near penn station but they all like to be down there and frame both ends of the streets and yell about everyone going to hell through mega phones and ratchet ass witches taking selfies next to them with tongues out twerking as the jesus people scream harder and pop a vein, cool fashion since NYC witches are mad extra and when we all get together especially for an event with cameras people WILL be doing THE MOST (especially black witches- and queer witches but like 90% of witches here are queer so that goes without saying) There is a Witch Pride parade that is the pre event to this witch fest. It starts at Union Square at 9 AM and they are basically going to march down to Astor place so it will only be an hour long. There’s also gonna be a drumming after party that Sunday afternoon too. So if you want to try to make more friends and network your witchy business then go there.
If you go, then See you There!
Gettin my witch on
Witch Fest at the Monongahela Aquatorium, October 29, starts at 7pm.
Lol I knew it was gonna be booty. When 1/2 the stuff you're uninterested in cause you make it yourself and the other 1/2 is APPROPRIATION UP THE WAZOO I met a lovely friend from college here and she's honestly so sweet but she's in a Bellydancing troupe named 'Witchnamaste' and it's like. Fucking why. One of them have Native American feathers in their hair. Lorddt. This is why I find those witches that whine about technomagic to be ridiculous cause it's like this is already how the culture of witchcraft is being sold. One hodgepodge of appropriated cultures and spiritualities to seem mystical in one giant spectacle mess.
Actually the witch fest in NYC is looking pretty interesting! A friend wants to come with me I hope I won’t be traveling then but even if I am traveling then its probably for a good ass reason so its not something to be sad about I guess
