OUR PREFERRENCES AND THE SPIRITS
Anyone who is doing deity-work or spirit-work or demonolatry will have entities they love and respect. However it is unfortunately all too common to see posts about people confusing what deities are like or what they prefer, with the things the humans like and prefer. Some examples: a person might be a vegetarian but might work with Zeus/Jupiter; a well-known meat-eater. Another person who loves animals, is an activist against safaris or hunting, but may give respects to Ninurta and Artemis/Diana (both of which were legendary hunters). A third person might love Athena or Hestia/Vesta too much and may seek sexual gratification with them, forgetting that they were virgins by choice and they may be angered by the god-spouse ideology in general.
There is nothing wrong with the above, as long as you don’t confuse the things you like and do with the things the deity/demon likes and does. They don’t necessarily match! And no-one has the right to twist a deity’s nature and choices just because they want them to agree with their specific mindset. I have seen both sides of the spectrum; some deities are bisexual (or even dual-gendered), and their worshipper being straight tries to “purify” them from this aspect. And I’ve also seen deities/demons being straight, and their demonolater/witch being LGBT trying to pervert their image/choices into fitting their own mindset or choices. Just as you would detest someone doing this to you, please be considerate and remember that everyone’s identity and choices are their own; no-one has a right to oppress or change them, and the same applies to spirits, demons and deities.
