Upon the cold throne of Metamoor sits Prince Phobos — tyrant, sorcerer, and exile from the crown that was meant to be his. Born into a world where only queens inherit the “magical light,” he was groomed for power that destiny denied him.
Beneath the crown’s weight lies not only ambition, but a wound — the memory of a right stripped away. In the silence of his hall, he dreams not of justice, but of dominion over all worlds, to seize the inexhaustible magic that slipped from his grasp. The rose at his feet — a solitary drop of color in the stone-grey night — is a whisper of what was lost, and what he is willing to destroy to take it back.
Prince Phobos — the tyrannical ruler of Meridian, also known as Metamoor or the Metaworld. At first glance, he is the archetype of a classic villain: powerful, wealthy, intelligent, elegant, ruthless, and dangerously unhinged, yet wrapped in an unusual charisma and a striking, mysterious appearance.
Though Phobos seems eternally young, his true age remains a mystery; he may have walked the world for thousands of years.
In Metamoor, the throne is traditionally passed only to women, for it is believed that only a queen can inherit the “magical light”, an inexhaustible source of supreme power. As a boy, Phobos could never become a legitimate ruler. Here is my theory: since he was the firstborn and had always dreamed of ruling, and as his parents likely adored him without expecting another heir, he may have been raised as a girl. This would explain his androgynous beauty, feminine hairstyle with its flowing length, and elegant garments unlike those worn by any man in Metamoor. Perhaps from birth, he was groomed to ascend the throne, regardless of his physical sex.
But then, many years later, Princess Elyon, his sister, was born. With her arrival, Phobos’s claim vanished. Despite his deep knowledge, political cunning, and mastery of witchcraft, his royal parents refused him the right to inherit. The rejection cut deep. Wounded in pride and stripped of his dream, Phobos turned his desire for the throne into a hunger to conquer all worlds and claim the greatest magic for himself — a lust for power that became the seed of his downfall.
