A brief note on Corrospondances

I don't like how often I see witches being shamed and belittled for using corrospondances (popular associations used widely in witchcraft, like colours being associated to ideas like wealth, or family).

People use corrospondances for so many different reason. Some peoples' craft rely on them more than others, they're widely used as a learning tool and many people (myself included) use them because that's what we were brought up around, or exposed to early in our journeys.

Just because many of use learn or prefer to use other ways to manifest and guide energies, doesn't mean we're better or worse than people who primarily work with popular tools.

And many of us who think we don't use popular correspondences will be shocked to find out that its not the case. Humans see patterns in EVERYTHING, especially when we're actively trying not to. Patterns will always exist in our practice and there's a good chance your practice looks quite a lot like someone elses who openly uses popular corrospondances.

A brief list of some different kinds of correspondences used in (primarily Eurocentric) witchcraft:

- Moon phases

-Weather

- Herbs and other plants

- Minerals (stones and crystals and stuff)

- Colours

- Calender days

OK I said this was gonna be brief but I got carried away, as per usual.

tl;dr: Don't be shit to people who use corrospondances. They're not lesser or better for doing so.

I'm staying at an good friends new apartment which is in an old repurposed asylum and HOO BOY am I having a WEIRD TIME!

The quiet times on this blog are coming to an end! For the last 2 months I've been tangled in the chaos of finding a new house, tying up loose ends at work, and doing the actual move. WELL.
