Since its release on 2014, fans have engaged with Steven Universe in a variety of ways that reflect the changing atmosphere of social media. As a deeper look into the connections between fandom and creators, Steven Universe fans and college students @witchcave (Kennedy) and @dertgerl (Maxo) are interested in examining the ways Steven Universe has affected its audience by creating a survey. witchcave said: YES!!! Like I’ll hear a truck rev up and it reminds me of my dad’s and I’ll freak out and even now when ppl are fighting my instinct is to cry and yeah I totally know what you mean. Like smells definitely trigger those memories of the past!
