Witchcraft as technology
Witchcraft is the primordial ‘science & technology’ of humanity interacting with the larger universe or the environment/surroundings— psychically, mystically & magically.
It is per definition itself ‘neutral’; like the computer on your desk, to be used by you as you wish— inspired from your highest knowings or on behalf of your delusions & beliefs.
When we turn our back on our knowing, everything can become distorted— our crafting can become selfish & something to reinforce our identities with— instead of being an age old language of communion between us as inside selves (psyche) with the environment we find ourselves in (physical world).
To serve the land, the creatures, beings & spirits we share space with for the greatest welfare to the inclusive whole is the oldest purpose of our sorcery.
Sorcery relates to sorting (in terms of fate etc.) & we can see how sorting things, or moving something from here to there (redirecting flows), relates to both fate & service (see roots ser/sors— ref. slides).
Sorcery began when man took a stone as a tool to measure a circle in the land on which to perform his work to produce the fruits & harvests of his labour in communion with the land.
Now that the psyche was delineated, symbolically by measuring out the circle, the arduous task of individuation was instantiated.
We don’t own the land, it doesn’t belong to us.
We are the extensions of the land, born of the earth, we belong to the land & are its creative effectors.
We owe the land our hands & our toil & our labour— we give— we move things around— we sort & serve— so that the land in turn manifests our harvests & sustenance— we receive.
We pluck what we need off the tree by planting & caring for the seed.
This is the primordial economy of magical regulation (eco— meaning: environment).
In our scientific haste we have overlooked the psychic/energetic/spiritual side of the coin & have become materialist-consumerist, leading to plunder with our machines.
The true economic laws mirror the spiritual laws.
Psyche & physis meet/mirror on the boundary of the circle— the psychic mirror.
