“Where is the body?”

This scene where Geralt reports that Ciri is dead.

I was puzzled by his initial reaction when he turned around to face the White Wolf. Like he was trying so hard to look “business as usual”. When Geralt thought Ciri really was dead, Geralt broke down.

Here, Emhyr had to set the pain of Ciris’ “passing” on the side because he, as the head of a large empire, cannot afford a moments weakness. 

But then he turns around to hide his sadness, and even his voice momentarily trembles. 

It’s not easy being an emperor.
