POLAND AND TRUE WITCHER FANS, WE WON!!!!!!!
she looks so freaking beautiful in the trailer
“The most prominent feature of his visage was a long, hideous, semi-circular scar running from the corner of his mouth across the length of his cheek up to the ear. It got itchy when he was nervous or embarrassed. Minus the scar and hair color, Eskel and Geralt resembled one another like true brothers.”
So he isn’t game accurate but he is book accurate!!
Crypt Tv The Birch vs The Netflix the Witcher Leshen design
So, I couldn’t help thinking when I first saw the new Netflix trailer that the Leshen look familiar design wise. It didn’t take me long to remember Crypt tv’s Birch. Until I googled an image I thought I was remembering them more similarly than I thought... nope
Okay so looking it up “Leshys are mentioned in The Witcher books but are never actually featured in a story.” So no descriptions seems to exist. That means they could have done anything.
Below Crypt tv’s the Birch
Vs
Below the Netflixes Leshen
another pic of the Birch below
I also didn’t recognize the Netflix monster as the Leshen from the trailer. I had to google which monster it was ,probably because I played the Witcher games and had (below) in my head as what they were meant to look like.
So does anyone know the reason for the redesign from the game?
- Is this new Leshen design more accurate to the books?
- Does Netflix Witcher have some people on the design team from crypt tv working for them?
- Ultimately, I’m curious why they didn’t stick to the more widely recognized design of the Leshen from the games... Does anyone have any thoughts?
Or do you think it comes down to only so many ways to design a “femish” tree monster (I don’t think this is true btw) just wondering if this is the mentality.
Or do you disagree that they design is completely different? That’s valid too, I couldn’t help my first thought when looking at the trailer that the new Leshen design reminded me of the birch (crypt tv)
The man knows how to make an entrance
Have to say, as a middlingly entusiastic Witcher (books and games) fan, I’m quite excited about the new series. I’m certain it’ll have its disappointments, but from the new trailer, it’s... intriguing???
Ignore the thumbnail/preview image for this... haha
THE TRAILER IS OUT
Geralt and Yennefer have already consumed my soul from a 5 SECOND CLIP
The witcher trailer but with the game music hope you’ll like it guys
