You hear your windchimes, signaling the entering of a possible customer on your little shop and you raise your head to welcome anyone that might need your services.

Only for that welcoming smile to transform into a menacing scowl once you see Byun Beakhyun strut into your shop with enough confidence for the whole town and a matching aggravating smirk on his lips.

You groan out loud at your neighboring competition and you try to avoid the warlock currently stepping into enemy territory.

“Oh, come on, Y/N, not even a “hello” for your friendly neighbor?” he teases, resting his weight on the counter, staring at your ass shamelessly while throwing you a wink.

You wanna say your immediate reaction was to gag, but even you know better.

Instead of letting him know his effect on you, you roll on your eyes. “Why don’t you just take your broomstick and shove it?” you spit out, pushing a book into his chest with all the strength and resentment you can manage. He had ordered a book on magic recipes some time ago and the idiots messed up and delivered it to your shop instead of his. Hence his visit to your shop.

He takes the book with a groan of complaint, before flashing you once more his signature smile. “Mmm, I didn’t peg you for the kinky type, Y/N…” he jokes, full of himself as he rests his upper torso on the counter again, leaning towards you.

You give him a patronizing chuckle before leaning in as well. “Oh, you didn’t… But I just might.”

The innuendo behind your answer has him choking on his words, ears and cheeks flushed as he takes a step back. His eyes fall to the floor in embarrassment as he rubs the base of his neck. But instead of getting satisfaction out of his behavior, you curse yourself.

Why? Because as much of an asshole Byun Baekhyun is when he’s confident, he’s that much of an adorable baby boy when he’s flustered. God, now you turned yourself on, congrats.

Especially, when you know how much of a baby boy he can get behind closed doors. You have the experience of one drunken night you spent naked on his bed to go by.

One mistake you won’t repeat again.

“I- I should go…” he stutters, -how cute-, as he tries to make his way to the exit, only to stumble and nearly fall on your familiar, a black cat named Lilith.

“Oh, shit, I’m sorry I didn’t see you there…” he mumbles, extending his hand forward to pet her.

You try to warn him not to, but you’re too late.

“HOLY MOTHERF- IT BIT ME!”

You sigh in annoyance as you gather the necessary supplies as Baekhyun shakes his hand up down in the middle of your shop. Lilith has wandered off to rest on one of your cabinets, looking at the two of you from above and sparing you an unimpressed glance.

Really? Him?

You narrow your eyes at her, before approaching Baekhyun.

“Stop moving, you big baby, let me help you…” you scold him and at once Baekhyun falls silent, instead watching you work to heal him.

The silence is weird. Baekhyun has never been silent a day in his life and you have to guess this is a first. But it makes you feel nervous. Nervous by the lack of space between the two of you, nervous by the look he’s giving you.

It’s your turn to flush.

“If I ever hear you calling my familiar it again, I’m gonna let her do more than just a scratch…” you warn him, yet your voice hides no sharpness in it. Baekhyun’s eyes widen, staring at you in awe and then back at his hand to see you’re finished.

Your fingers linger on his skin before you shake yourself out of it and let it hang on his side. “There, all done.”

Baekhyun swallows, eyes never leaving yours. “Ugh, yeah, thanks…” he says, his voice quiet and timid.

His eyes remain on you for a while and for some reason you can’t take yours away as well. Because those eyes remind you of that night. And how different he was then.

Baekhyun coughs and moving his eyes away, breaking the spell. “I should go now…” he mumbles, walking backward to the exit. “Thanks for the book…” he says sincerely, and you smile.

“It’s nothing,” you admit.

Baekhyun stops right before he leaves. “I know.”

And then he’s gone.

You stay looking at the door for a second before moving back behind the counter to resume whatever you were doing before he came in.

Only to hear Lilith again in your head.

Idiots. You’re both idiots.

Witches!AU is actually one of my oldest, but as I came back to it I did some toggling to it (as one does).

This is AU is about Witches! Just as label says, nice and easy. In this world magic take place in mundane life of people and witches alike, leaving history of Great Witch Hunt and Magic Terror behind. At least that was that way for many years already...

Anyway, magic system.

So as you can see there's four types of magic and a Witch can handle only one of them.

Elemental Magic is exactly is what you think it is, Witch with this type can manipulate and create from one to three elements that natural to them. Elemental magic is heavy influenced by emotions of wielder and many Witches are risking to forever merge with their element and lose their conscious and humanity becoming Pure Elements.

Animal Magic is coming from connection that Witch establish with their familiar animal. Their familiar gives them powers and some of their features to resemble the bond they have and gains long lifespan that Witch has. Animal Witch can live without their familiar(even though it's very painful process and they become much weaker), but familiar cannot live without it's Witch.

Enchanter Magic is ability to create magic artefacts and channel their magic through them. Without them Witch cannot preform any magic at all, but with them they can preform precise different spells without any risk.

Genesis Magic is the oldest and most powerful magic because it's includes base concepts in the Universe itself: Existence and Time. Back in the time wielders of that type of magic murdered from the point of them being little kids even amongst the other Witches. So no one seen a grown Genesis Witch in a long time.

Something like that.
