I made my first witch's ball, and I love how it turned out 🥰🌒🌕🌘 I made it with protection in mind. I still have five clear ornaments, I have yet to decide what I'll do with them, but they might be Yule gifts for friends and family!

These are filled with herbs & other little things & are meant to keep evil away from your home as well as evil thoughts, they’re very equivalent to a horseshoe!

Will you be attending The Witches Ball this weekend? I’m unable to attend this time unfortunately but I’m hoping the will be videos and lots of reports from those who are going.

Funny you should mention it. We did manage to escape to the McKittrick on Friday and Saturday and in typical fashion, Waffle took a bunch of Witches' Ball Halloween party videos including all three ballroom performances and is uploading them to our YouTube channel right now. More will appear over the coming days, but there's plenty to get you started already on our YouTube Channel! It was a damn good time!

After clearing the vaccine and mandatory test requirement, guests could enter through the maze. (On Friday, guests could also enter directly to the hotel lobby from the stairs, but that was closed off to try to improve flow for the weekend parties.) On Friday night, all the party floors were open at the top of the party--ballroom plus mezzanine, lobby, Manderley, and 4th floor. On Sat and Sun, the typical Manderley and lobby were open at entry time and the rest opened later. In the Manderley, there was live music as always, MK Groove with various singers including Julia Haltigan, Lisa McQuade; Karen Marie and her band; and the Villians. The hotel lobby had a DJ (DJ A-Ball on Fri, don't know other nights) and live burlesque dancers all night (Lily Ockwell, Kelly Todd, Kelsey Connolly, Ernesto Breton, Doug Burkhardt, Elias Rosa) dancing on the hotel lobby desk. There were three ballrooms starring Mallory Gracenin, Ashley Robicheaux, Joy-Marie Thompson, Ruth Howard, Zack McNally, Jacob Guzman (and one unknown special guest). There were also tireless, gorgeous go-go dancers between numbers: Evan Fisk, Jamal Abrams, Kayla Farrish, and Marissa Maislen. The fourth floor had durational performances by Camara McLaughlin, Stephanie Jean Lane, Morgan Doelp, Marc Cardarelli, Andy Talen, and Mitchell Winter and more go-go/burlesque/um....just really good dancing in the rep bar (if you happened to catch the light at the right time) by Nate Carter, Marija Obradovic, Aliza Russell, Emily Oldak.

Of course, none of this would be possible without Austin Goodwin, who gave us the gift of this nostalgic, beautiful, debaucherous gathering of old and new friends.

Check out the videos we have up now. We know it's not the same as going in the flesh, but hope it helps tide you over until you can safely get back to the grand hotel. We'll keep uploading more in the near future! (There are a LOT.) The link is in the notes to keep this post visible on the tag. :)

These ornaments contain a hearty blend of Calendula, Putka pods, Cinnamon, Star Anise, Baby's Breath, orange peels dried on Litha (the summer solstice), yellow rose petals, and beaver fur. I selected these herbs to offer protection when hung in the home while sparking one's inner joy and to supplement familial connection that many of us are unable to experience this holiday season due to the pandemic.
