Specifically the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th pic (all are great, this are just the ones that piss me off the most). Like, how fucking dare you? I will never look like you and I can't even be pissed at you for it. I didn't sign up for this shit! Like I'm so happy for him and how he explores with his outfits, and I wish I could do it like him. every time I get mad at how the writers made the characters so static on Merlin, I remember your comments about that and I feel better that someone feels the same lol thank you for the solidarity!

OMG, yes!! They were so terrified of letting them grow! Merlin didn’t even get a proper wardrobe change until the last scene in the last episode! When those new BTS photos appeared this year with the scruffy Arthur, I was delighted, of course, but I was also low-key mad. They were on the right path! They knew the character had to move forward, but when they saw that he was growing past their initial concept (that had worked fine only in season 1, lbr), they panicked and reshot entire episodes! In retrospect, everything that felt off to me about season 4 Arthur suddenly made sense! That is why so many character arcs felt rushed when certain things had to happen to keep in line with the original myths. I don’t understand what they were so afraid of, the show was plenty dark as it is! They could have let it all develop organically but they deliberately chose not to 😕😕
