This app is great for the exact timeframes for the Sun phases at a glance.

Weather

Pretty self-explanatory 😅 As a Sun Witch, it’s important for me know not just about the weather where I’m casting, but I also utilize the UV index in my work.

Spotify

I use music in most of my rituals and spells. Mostly binaural beats & frequencies of the planets, but I also have devotional playlists and playlists I make for different intentions.

Apple Books

I’m a big e-book girl, so lots of my reference books are in my digital library.

Pinterest

Here’s where I make my digital altars. Living in a one bedroom apartment I share with my Christian boyfriend, I can’t have all of the devotional spaces I’d like to in the physical sense, so I’ve curated some nice digital spaces that make me feel more connected to the spirits & deities I work with.

Night Sky

Definitely my most used app for magical purposes is Night Sky. I love stargazing, and this app shows me all of the stars, planets, constellations, satellites, and the ISS!

Solar Activity

This app gives a lot of info on solar activity, like solar storms and solar flares. It also offers forecasts, so if there are strong solar flares, I’m able to track it and utilize that activity in my spellwork.

Here is where I keep track of the planetary hours.

My forever grimoire is mostly digital documents I create digitally to be printed and added to my binder. I have lots of notes and references saved in my grimoire folder, as well as some digital spells.

Co-star

This one is mostly just for fun. I love to read my horoscope while I’m drinking my morning coffee. Lots of my friends are on the app, so it’s nice to check up on them, too.

Fools Dog Tarot

My friend @web-witch recommended this app to me while I was traveling, as a tool to utilize covert tarot magic on-the-go. I really connected with this app, and have done some really accurate reading using it.

Insight Timer

Meditation is one of my favorite activities, and I’ve used a lot of mediation apps over the years. While I wouldn’t say it’s the best for beginners, I do think it’s the best for witchy meditations. I’ve found pathwalking guides for the Wheel of the Year, different planets, & Moon phases.

Hey all, I’m looking for any suggestions for witchcraft apps! I tried Saged already and it really didn’t click with me.

Bonus points if it allows/includes any of the following:

Daily rituals/simple rituals

Moon phase/star alignments

Journaling or record keeping

Not Wiccan-focused or overly sanitized by capitalism

Technically it doesn’t even have to be a witch-focused app, it could just be something good for using as a grimoire or similar. Thanks ahead of time!

The Witchy Apps I Use:

Seen a few of these posts so I figured I'd share as well! I use these for reference mostly, and personally prefer to do my practice irl. All are free!

Labyrinthos- this is a tarot app mostly, though it also has some astronomy info. I wouldn't recommend it if you're just starting with tarot, because the descriptions are over simplified and lacking. It does have a "learn" feature that can help you memorize/learn the basics though and for that it's pretty good! I use this to save tarot spread layouts that I use with my cards irl. It let's you create your own custom spreads and save them.

Co-Star- an astronomy/horoscope app. I love it because it does your birth chart for you in an easy to understand format and you can go back and reference it quick if you need it! But the descriptions of what everything in the chart means is also lacking and waay oversimplified here too, and none of the "aspects" are included. It'll do "daily horoscopes" but it won't have info on why/how it concluded that information based on your birth chart.

Moon phase calendar- a must for me! Always gotta know what the moon is doin. It has a lot of detail, including the percentage of visibility and rise/set times.

Make it rain- rain/thunderstorm sounds for meditation and practice

PictureThis- this is my favorite free plant identification app, and I'm pretty picky lol

Herbs dictionary- this is purely scientific information on an insane number of herbs, with medical uses as well. No magical uses listed. Again, this is for quick reference!!. If I'M personally using an herb for medicinal purposes it's because I'm familiar with it and know which are safe for me, don't just use whatever random herb some phone app says may help... Be safe.

Herbalist Grimoire- I think this one has about 70 herbs? And their magical correspondences. I love it for quick reference! It also explains how to use herbs (like making tinctures, oils, satchets, etc), a glossary of medical terms related to herbs, basics on how to grow herbs, and a brief history of herbs in witchcraft.

LunaDiary- a password protected night-mode diary with adjustable font and formatting and calming music. I use it for note taking, spells, ideas, some of which later goes into my grimoire. It has a back-up feature that uploads it to my Google drive. Plus the more notes you make, the more lunar phases and stars you get in the home page, so that's cute.

The occult library- exactly what it sounds like, it's got different witchcraft related books you can read for free.

Play Books- the basic Google play book app, I go to the android play store and download free books of interest related to my craft and philosophies I follow and read them here.

Improve intuition (called "intuition test" in the playstore for some reason tho)- this one has several choice-related activities that challenge your intuition skills! Big recommend.

Respire- a meditation app with different breathing exercises. I'm not a fan of hearing someone talk me through a guided meditation, so following a breathing exercise works much better for me. You can close your eyes and it'll make a ding sound to let you know when to breathe in, hold, and breathe out.

Down dog- an AMAZING free yoga app! It has restorative yoga, hatha, quick flow, and sun salutations in the free version. With different music genre to choose from that plays what seems like a genre radio. You can adjust the difficulty level, speed, and length. The instructors are great at guiding and the video to follow is aesthetically nice and it's all very easy to understand. Truly can't recommend this one enough.

I'm hoping to find an app that has a sheet to fill out for saving spells, like it would be great if it has the day/time, lunar phase, title, intent, tools, instructions, and outcomes to fill out. If you know of one, please let me know!

fav witchy apps

im not a tech witch, i much rather prefer ink and paper, but sometimes using technology can be pretty useful for witchcraft “on the go”. here are some of the apps that i use regularly in my craft

👁‍🗨 pagan & witches amino. it’s a witchy social community, pretty much like the pagan side of tumblr. i don’t post on here but i read a lot, and the users have some pretty good stuffs

👁‍🗨 labyrinthos. one of the best tarot apps imo, as useful for tarot spreads than for learning the meanings of the cards. the design is really cute too !

👁‍🗨 marijuana handbook. this will not appeal to all witches, but as a stoner that incorporates weed in his craft i do feel that this app deserves a place here. it’s a library of all kind of strains, and the light version is pretty complete you don’t need to pay

👁‍🗨 golden thread tarot. this is my second favorite tarot app. there is a really good system of tarot log, you can draw a card a day and save it with the impressions it gives you, and how it makes you feel

👁‍🗨 stone. i often use this one before buying a crystal, to quickly check on its properties if i don’t know them. the library is not the biggest out here and it’s not worth a good book on the subject but it still contains most essential crystals imo and is suited for beginners

👁‍🗨 rune. same as golden thread, this app has a “rune of the day” option, which is quite nice to have. they also have talismans and more in-depth rune draw (3, 4, 5 & 7 runes)

👁‍🗨 star walk 2. this is my absolute favorite sky view app. the design is lovely and portrays the sky in a very accurate way with constellations and stars. they also give little alerts for celestial events

👁‍🗨 relax melodies. i talked about it in my grounding and how it can help with dpdr post, so i won’t expand further more in this post but it’s a great app for meditation and helping fall asleep

👁‍🗨 habitica. it’s a to-do and habits app, so it’s more on the productive side of witchcraft but i really like the retro video game vibe that’s coming off of it, i think it’s the most motivating app of this kind ive ever encountered. you should defo give it a try

bonus : lunar apps.

👁‍🗨 moon phase. gives out lots of informations about the moon, its phases, but also zodiac, age, distance and photography hours ! this app comes in handy to keep track of the moon cycle

👁‍🗨 moon calendar. this has to be one of my favorite apps of the list. i am the type of witch that plans his whole life around the moon phases, and so does this app. as its name tells us, it’s a calendar based on the moon phases, but there is also a to-do list, a list of rituals, and the option to write in your own rituals ! i often use it to write ideas on a whim for upcoming celebrations
