Story Time, With a Good Lesson
Here’s a little something for everyone who often sends out their intentions to the world, either through magick, prayer, blessings or thought.
Where I am, it’s currently hunting season. My family only hunts to have food for the winter, and we often store what we can from both our garden and whatever is caught. Right now, things have been rather tough in regards to food as two of us are working, two of us are in college, and one of us is still in high school, so this year’s hunt was a necessity we needed.
On the first day, my father came home from work (he works night shift) and only stayed long enough to change and get his rifle and left as the sun rose to start hunting. He came home near lunch empty handed, and after a three hour nap he returned to the woods again. However, he was left empty handed.
Day two, and though he felt discouraged he forced himself to go out again. This time I was home, and after feeling his disappointment and uncertainty, something struck me. I quickly went through my stones and grabbed the one that called, my small piece of amazonite. The stone itself gave off a vibration for good luck as I turned it over in my hand, and without hesitation I went and passed it to my father before he left. He’s often a skeptic, but he took it and said, “At this point, I’m ready to accept anything.”
I sent the intention of him returning home with food with the stone, and I kept the thought that he would bring home food in the back of my mind all day. Of course, in my mind, food was a deer as that’s what he was hunting for, but the universe had different plans.
Later that night, he returned home. No deer, but instead he had quite a few crappies that his cousin had caught while in Alabama. His cousin had just returned from a fishing trip when my father was leaving and passed along some of his catch to him. However, my father was upset-- the stone I had given him was gone, and he was confused as it vanished from a zipped pocket.
After thinking about it, I told him that the stone was payment in exchange for the fish. I hadn’t really expected it to return home, though when it did, I was surprised and realized that the stone and the universe had aided in what I asked it to, quite literally: to let my father return home with food. It may not have been deer, but it definitely proved to me that when asking for aid or even making a wish, it never hurts to be extra clear about what exactly you want. The higher powers will more than likely take your request literal.
Definitely be aware about what you wish/ask for.
