Day 5: Facing Their Fears

"... True form? You mean being whole, right?"

"You'll see."

Any Nobody would be glad to have the chance to become whole again, as we've seen time and time again, but this one in particular... not so much.

Sometime after the events at Castle Oblivion, this poor sap has to battle with an identity crisis, which anyone knows is a Bad Time™ especially when you're made of about... 3-4 people?

So you can understand that becoming whole is a rollercoaster of fear and resentment. Will she keep her face, or take on the visage of someone else? Will she retain her memory, or deal with losing what little she has?

Judging by the changes, her eyes and hair changing from purples to blue-green and red respectively, or the loss of her horns and tail, things are not looking too good in that regard. Alongside that, she starts losing functionality in her powers, almost as if they're telling her to give up...

Like everything else, it just becomes another uphill battle to be won, and there's no doubt she won't try to conquer those awful moments.

Haha, Day 5 is kinda depressing, so here's to a much more lighthearted Day 6!

Ooooooo Stony(+Bucky?) idea, so Tony needs to work in Italy for like a month or more because maybe for a merger, then a help effort event (like the recent bridge collaspe), and finally a vacation. So he returns to the Tower, relaxed, tan, and most importantly with an accent. Steve 100% drops the coffee pot when he hears Tony, Bucky turns bright red, Natasha plots to get him to sing/croon, Rhodes coos at his cultured accent etc

Italy has always been a sort of safe haven for Tony. It reminds him of his mother and the summers he spent there with her when he was a child. He tries to go back for at least a week or two every year. It’s the place he goes when he wants to escape from reality a bit, which is why he suggested detouring to Venice with Pepper back when he was dying. Since becoming an Avenger though, he hasn’t been able to visit as often as he’d like.

Then a proposal gets dropped onto Tony’s desk one day, asking for the September Foundation’s help in getting funding for infrastructure repairs throughout Italy. There has been an uptick of accidents happening lately, and the organization would like to get repairs started asap before more people get hurt.

Tony immediately takes an interest in the project. The country holds some of Tony’s happiest memories and he wants to help as much as possible. He gets on the phone with SF’s philanthropic manager and they get started on working out a game plan.

A week later Tony takes a leave of absence from the Avengers, asking them to call him only if they really can’t handle things on their own. He flies to Italy and gets the organization that contacted him set up with all the resources they need to start on the repairs. He goes all throughout Italy to drop off materials and donates helper bots to relieve the volunteers of the harder, more stringent parts of physical labour. Tony also personally helps with the manual work, lifting bricks and columns and slotting them where they need to go, and double checking all the calculations to make sure that the engineering is sound and that the bridges and highways they rebuild are all durable.

All in all, Tony stays for over two months, and promises that he’ll be back periodically to check in on the progress that’s being made. Before heading back to New York, he decides to take some time for himself and heads to his villa in Bologna for some rest. He stays in Bologna for ten days, and while he’s there he also makes short day trips to Venice, Florence, and Pisa. He indulges himself with the best Italian food in the world and buys several wheels of parmigiano to bring back to New York.

When he gets back to New York, he arrives at the tower just in time for team breakfast. He walks into the kitchen wearing the most relaxed smile and glowing with a healthy tan and greets his friends, “Good morning! Vi sono mancato?”

He’s got…the heaviest accent the team has ever heard from him. Tony had just spent ten weeks in Italy speaking nothing but the native language, and he was so in his element that the accent manages to slip in when he’s back to speaking in English. And he doesn’t even realize it.

Steve, who was in the middle of pouring himself a cup of coffee, drops the entire pot when he hears Tony’s voice and immediately feels a flush crawl up his neck. Bucky and Nat manage to stifle their laughter, but they know Steve has a bit of a language and accent kink, so they’re really looking forward to getting to watch him get all stuttery around Tony for the next few days.

Rhodey, who’s picked up a bit of Italian from Tony, doesn’t think much about it when he responds, “Bello vederti, Tony,” and gets back to his breakfast.

Tony’s delighted as always to see his best friend and says, “Aw I knew you’d miss me, honeybear!”

And his accent is just so prominent, Steve can’t help but moan a little bit, and tries to pass it off as his omelette just being particularly cheesy and delicious.

But Tony’s a smart guy. He sees the way Bucky and Nat are smirking at Steve and slyly glancing back at Tony. He can also see just how red the tips of Steve’s ears are. So he saunters over to the table and takes the empty seat next to Steve’s, leans in and whispers, “Buongiorno, amato.”

And Steve’s a complete goner.

When I started shipping it if I did: I feel pretty much neutral toward this ship. It sounds intriguing though, and the idea of seeing Kisara with someone else than Set feels always refreshing!

My thoughts: I can see that relationship work.  although slight abusive on Bakura’s part.  He would be definitely protective of her, though, and she would manage to soften him up a little with time

What makes me happy about them: there would be a great understanding between those two, well, outcasts

What makes me sad about them: ultimately, Bakura is too hell-bent on his revenge to really focus on feelings for any people

Things done in fanfic that annoy me: the only fic I read on them was from the ever awesome Scribbler, so nothing in mind here c:

Things I look for in fanfic: mmh I don’t know…

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Set or Atem for Kisara and… no one for Bakura, I fear xD He doesn’t seem like the type to commit to relationships

My happily ever after for them: Both of them end up in afterlife 

who is the big spoon/little spoon: mmh, Bakura as the big spoon, obviously. He hates having people behind his back. 

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: lots of staring contests and wary sideglances! Advances on his part and a lot of hesitancy on hers. If both eventually manage to get to know each other, there would be more comfort so maybe also cautious talks about their pasts and on the joys of being rejected by society as a whole

How I feel about this character: he’s a badass, awesome and gorgeous bishonen I’d love to catch with some pokeball

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Atem; though I see it mostly one-sided on Mahaad’s part. I also like to see him with Mana so I’d say, Kyoudaishipping for teh win!  (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧

My non-romantic OTP for this character: mmh, I would have loved to see him interact more with Akhenamkhanen, Set and the other priests. 

My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s not as meek and spineless as people think? Seeing his dynamics with Atem but more especially Mana in the anime/manga convinced me Mahaad is the perfect stoic tsundere.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: WHY did you die so early D: We had so much more to see yet from you and your character!

my OTP: sealshipping is to me what mizushipping is to some people:  the perfect bond between two people that transcends time and death altogether - love and friendship channeled into endless devotion, sacrifice. Loyalty.

my cross over ship: for some reason, Mahaad x Usagi is the first thing that popped in mind lol

a headcanon fact: Mahaad is fascinated by magic because it makes him feel connected to the whole universe. It makes him feel useful and gives him a definite purpose: to protect Kemet and the Pharaoh. The magic in him is however very powerful and it can get extremely difficult for him to control it all while keeping the evil in the Sennen Ring around his neck at bay. Fortunately, though, the companionship of his fellow priests and Pharaoh helped him in doing this and remaining sane.
