Sealshipping is largely just puzzleshipping, the difference being the former is doomed to orbit each other forever unendingly but without touching, acting out the charade of devotion without either having the personhood to give it meaning--while the latter is doomed to grow around each other for a short period of time that will cause their inevitable absences to hurt like a missing limb forever

Mahad is a childhood friend of Atem and probably his most loyal servant. He is firm in magic, and even in death, he will continue to protect his pharaoh and friend.

Atem shows that he respects and cares for Mahad, even if we only see their relationship through the tablet of memories. But even when Atem lost himself, he still remembered his fondness for the duel monster card that held the soul of his friend.

Atem and Mahad are friends, brothers, or partners through time and space. Not even the seal Atem placed on his own memories and name, or Mahad no longer being human, will keep them apart.
