obligatory harry potter au submission: kc + that one time dueling club got a little out of hand
i gave myself a maximum of 500 words for this and it’s only 503, so task semi completed? anyways, i asked for mini prompts forever ago, and i was trying to get motivated tonight so i decided to fire one or two out.
He tries to catch her eyes as she glares at him, doing his best at the puppy dog eyes that he knows melts her inside, even if she never admits it.
She growls (literally, like a full on animal, and which one of them was the wolf again?) at him, and he straightens up slightly.
"I do not want to hear whatever dumb excuse is going to come out of your mouth right now."
"Yes, well, I understand that, love, but honestly, it was just a simple misunderstanding, you see," he gets the words out in a rush, for fear that she will shut him up again or lock him out the door. "Kol came over and you know what he's like, and he thought it would be a good idea to-"
"MISUNDERSTANDING?" Another glare. "Misunderstanding, he says. Klaus, you literally stabbed me! You're own so-called mate."
"Not supposedly, you are my mate," he says distractedly.
He can tell from her glare that she is not impressed, and is moments away from hexing him.
Even he cringes at the look she sends his way. Clearly the wrong thing to say.
"Seriously? I am going to maim you, Niklaus Mikaelson. Just you wait and see!"
He wisely chooses to stay quiet, pressing his lips together, in fear of angering her further.
"Oh, believe me. I'm far from being sweet right now, so I suggest you get your ass away from me before I decide hexing you is a good idea," she hisses.
"I'll come check on you in an hour," he says quietly, as he stands up to make his exist.
"Don't think you're sleeping in this bed tonight."
He turns around at that, face shocked.
"Come now, Caroline. You can't possibly be implying that-"
"I'm kicking you out of your own bed? You bet your ass I am. You're lucky if I ever sleep with again, frankly, and if you know what's good for you, you'll return with doughnuts when you next check up on me," she snaps.
His head is bowed down as he takes his leave, "Yes, love."
Kol is snickering to himself as he closes the door.
"Yes, dear," he mocks his older brother.
"Want me to get the blankets out for you, brother dear? Since sweet Caroline isn't going to let you in your own bed tonight," Kol sing songs.
"Shut up, Kol," it's yelled out in unison by the two other people in the house, followed by the slam of a door, as Klaus storms out of the house (probably for the doughnuts Caroline had demanded, Kol knows his brother won't dare walk in the room without them), and his lips twitch.
Kol shrugs to himself as he plops himself down on the sofa.
Completely worth it though.
