The Pitt pet headcanons!!!
This is an excuse for my VetMed brain to yapp about stuff.. now including photos too.
Trinity and Dennis adopt a stray cat. Dennis finds it on his way home and his farm boy heart can't allow him to leave it out. So he smuggles the cat in. Trinity very quickly discovers the new roommate and she's pissed she can't even be mad about it because the kitty is just so small and looks as sad as Dennis did before she offered him a place. It's the clingiest creature ever and has no idea what personal space means, loves to be touching one or both of its humans all the time. They end up getting another one.
Samira was originally supposed to have a cat that passed, so she has a cat, it's this big fluffy ball that's grumpy and moody but will come up for pets from Samira (occasionally). The cat doesn't pass away because I said so!
Javadi has a family dog that she is very attached to, as it was bought by her parents to make up for her lack of friends. Her mother insisted on getting a purebred dog with papers, but it was Javadi's father who did extensive research into breeds to pick out the best match. He picked out Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They're smaller with gentle and usually well adjusted temperament and they're highly trainable. Javadi wasn't the biggest fan at first, feeling like it isolated and belittled her more to be given a dog due to her poor socialisation, but she grew to really love her dog.
Joy has a ball python, she loves him, he has a large terrarium build and often free roams when Joy's at home. She got him off Craigslist from a random dude named Stuart.
Emma owns birds, namely a pair of Corellas. They're at her parents, in the garden where they have their own cage. The cage is very well thought out, with enough space for flight, lots of enrichment and a house that the birds can duck into when the weather isn't ideal.
Becca really wanted a dog, but that just wasn't possible with Mel's busy schedule and Becca's time at the center, so Mel made her a deal to start small and if it goes well and time will allow it they can move on to more advanced pets. They have fish. Mel got really hyperfixated on the ecosystem of the tank, the compatibility of the fish types and everything in between. They now have a very well balanced large tank with specific structures, substrate, temperature and pH of the water to allow all the fishes and the plants to thrive. Becca likes how they move and how colorful they are, but isn't as invested as Mel is. Mel finds them really grounding to watch when she comes home from a difficult shift or a hard day.
Langdon has a merle Ausiedoodle aka designer mutt. He went with the trend, didn't properly research what he was getting into and ended up with a poor temperamental dog that needs high stimulation that he wasn't prepared for.
Princess owns a very spoiled purse chihuahua. She is very well behaved tho!
Perlah owns an oriental shorthair, she absolutely loves this cat, that's her queen.
Harrison really wanted a lizard and Cassie agreed as long as he would take good care of them. She got him bearded dragons and Harrison thinks they're really cool but he doesn't really take care of them as much as handles them. So that falls on Cassie, and she admits that she should have known that a kid wouldn't really hold up the promise. She bonds with the reptiles and enjoys their company while Harrison is with the father.
