You should… also tell us about sharks 👉👈
HELLO OKAY I’m not really sure what the talk about so I’m just going to back to the very beginning
This is Cladoselache
I love her and she’s amazing. She is also regarded as the very first shark to ever existed and lived 380 mya.
she had 7 gills slits instead of the 5 gill slits that sharks today have. She also didn’t have any scales so very smooth 👍 also what’s interesting is that if you look at this picture that’s a reconstruction of Cladoselache might’ve look like based on fossil, you’ll notice that the mouth is actually on the front of the head rather than underneath like most sharks today (this is actually a trait in a lot of prehistoric sharks)
Also it’s worth mentioning that evolution doesn’t work in a straight line so even though Cladoselache is called a shark she’s actually probably to a Chimaera than a true sharks. Chimaeras are a group of cartilaginous fish that are closely related to sharks and it’s believed that they spilt off from sharks around 420 mya. Evolution is tricky and complicated unfortunately lol
here’s an essay I found about shark evolution that goes a little bit more in depth if you’re interested :)
