look. i haven't read book of ti'ana yet BUT...... from general osmosis from following you and reading things in the cyan chat, i feel like there's so many interesting things going on with him too. having a famous dad of political importance is tough to live up to, i get it! i look forward to reading the book of ti'ana at some point so i can witness him <3

yeesha is too good for this world 🥺 i adore her so much. she's so genuine, and she always has been, and literally going from revelation to end of ages and seeing not only how much she has aged but also how (understandably) jaded she has become, learning about d'ni's true history, coming to understand the plight of the bahro, coming to terms with what she is and also realizing she has zero control despite the power that's supposed to come with who she is, im just..... i had to go back and add a square around "i am so normal about them" because im realizing im so NOT normal about her ahdfkjhd I JUST WANT TO SEE HER HAPPY

Got a lil question for Mords, and this should be a fun one: If you could build a house entirely out of one material, only one, and it can be any element in the known universe, what would it be?

“Funny you ask that,” Mordenna muttered, “I’ve had house building on the mind recently. Now, what would I do if I was the fourth little piggy...?” After a second of thinking, he shrugs. “I’m gonna be boring here and say that mishmash of metals that has been termed ‘alien alloy.’ The stuff is pretty sturdy and versatile, good for guns and construction. Only problem is getting enough to make it on that large a scale, but hey, we can scrap a few UFOs.” Something occurs to Mordenna, and he sighs. “Speaking of UFOs... ah, a thought for later.

Ok Chosen! I'm taking you all to Build-A-Bear. What kind of stuffed animal are you each getting?

The two brothers seem perplexed--but all it takes is seeing Fal-Mai's face to light up for them to hide it. "Do they have unicorns, or pegasi? I'd love to have a stuffed unicorn, they are--" Fal-Mai seemed to realize what that must sound like coming from her, and she pressed her lips together. "... if. If they have them. It would be nice."

"Sis." Mordenna clapped his hand on her shoulder. "Get excited. I like seeing you happy."

Fal-Mai smiled again, somewhat bashfully. "Unicorns are majestic and I would like one that smells like cherries..."

"Kinda forgot they did scents." Mordenna let his hand slide off of Fal-Mai's shoulder. "Me, I'd probably just get something for Vix. They still do Pokemon, right? Probably a Pikachu. Plushies ain't my speed."

Jax looked to the side, causing Fal-Mai to reach and squeeze his hand. He sighed. "... if they have peacocks, I would like one."

I got a little question for you, Mords! How's it like being a dad?

Mordenna smiled. “Like a dream,” he started. “Vix is one of the best things to ever happen to me and it makes me damn proud to have her. I don’t deserve her in the slightest, but I’m gonna make damn well sure I get there eventually.” He’d never thought he’d love being a dad so much in the past... but now that he had what he had? He wouldn’t give it up for the world.

If the Chosen were going out, say, on a date or somewhere fancy, what would they do to pretty themselves up? (Not to say they're not already freaking GORGEOUS, because they absolutely are.)

Jax goes all out. If he’s going out on a date with someone, even more so, because suffice to say, if it’s someone he’s willing to go out with, he loves them a lot. His most fancy outfits come out to play and he charts out hours beforehand to pretty himself up. Shower, specialty drying his hair, perfume if necessary, the works. Basically gives himself a makeover.

Mordenna’s similar, but less insane with his prep. Most of his better outfits expose his hair, so he’s gotta have that in order, and he feels his best after a shower, even if he doesn’t need it so much. He usually has a hard time picking out outfits, so that’s where most of his time goes to.

If Fal-Mai’s going out somewhere, she’s pretty likely to find something nice to wear, make sure she doesn’t look like a complete mess, and then just go. Out of her brothers, she has the least amount of prep time.

So in honor of this special day, I have a question for the author! How did you first get into XCOM?

Oh, boy, that’s a question. IIRC, through a haze of time and ADHD, the first time I really got into XCOM was my former girlfriend streaming the base game for me! I fell in love with the mechanics of the game and waited for it to go on sale--and around that time, the expansion came out as well. I got both--and the rest is history.
