Okay, tthis is just me being really curious, so, what are the first reaction and thoughts of the rest of the sullys as well as mo'at when they learned in withered that Neteyam seek for beta!reader as his mate?

Jake was definitely surprised but at first he figured it would be a fleeting crush, something born from the intrigue of beta reader being sheltered away. He outwardly was supportive and even gave his son some advice but deep down he assumed it was a crush that would trickle away slowly. It wasn't the first time Neteyam had shown some interest in a female but it was the first time the alpha truly sought to court someone. Slowly Jake began to realize how serious things were as Neteyam foraged for special materials to make gifts and sacrificed his sleep every night to go on the hunts.

Every time Neteyam would be caught yawning and his father would suggest he skip a hunt for some rest, the alpha would immediately protest and work extra hard in training to show that he still had the energy to keep going. It's not Jake's place to say anything. He knew that his son was grown and would make his own decisions. At the end of the day he was actually very proud of his son as he saw more of those Olo'eyktan qualities shine through in his dedication and perseverance in courting reader.

Neytiri was warry at first toon but she observed her son closely. She saw a familiar spark in his eyes that she had when she first met Jake. She too had gone against her family's wishes and title all in the name of love so she decided to let her son do the same. Her only real regret was watching her eldest son suffer during those weeks that him and reader were apart. She had never seen him so distraught and broken before. Now, she thanks the Great Mother every night that things had turned out for the better.

Neteyam was most nervous about apporaching Mo'at out of everyone. However, he did not go to her empty handed. Even when he was still in the stages of courting reader, he was scheming and preparing ways to make things work. Mo'at was silent and withdrawn as he explained his plan in detail. His heart had thundered as he waited in silence for her response. Finally she smiled warmly and simply said, "You will be a mighty Olo'eyktan, Neteyam. Eywa smiles on the future." He knew then that she had granted him her blessing.

Kiri was the most immediate in her support, rolling her eyes with a fond smile as she watched Neteyam anxiously wait for eclipse to fall every day. And Tuk, took special convincing to keep things under wraps while he was courting reader. He escourted her to her favorite caves almost every day just to keep her from running around and blabbing about the new big sister she would be receiving.

since we have the family's reaction on neteyam's courting, what about their reaction to meeting reader for the first time, including lo'ak

Lo'ak in particular wanted to meet reader early on. He kept trying to weasel his way into the night hunts but Neteyam was very resistant to let his brother come along in the early stages. He knew it would only be a matter of time before Lo'ak would say something embarassing about him or give away how much Neteyam truly was interested in reader, but he didn't want to scare you off so early on. Finally he was allowed to come along with the promise of keeping Neteyam's name out of his mouth and staying focused. He was impressed to see how acclimated reader is to the elements of Eclipse. He had never met a Na'vi so comfortable in the dangerous Pandoran nights.

Reader didn't meet the rest of the family until she had officially accepted Neteyam's intentions to court. At that point everyone was on board and just excited to see Neteyam so happy. Tuk was especially relieved to finally get to talk about her older sister and brag to her friends.

Hello my love! Oh my goodness I would love that! Kind of a coincidence because I have been thinking about Withered a lot recently since I've officially started the one shot on Neteyam's rut for that couple.

Unip doesn't have a lot of details about him but I do want to make it clear that he holds nothing against the reader. His brief appearance is to show that there are people out there who worry about Neteyam and have doubts about his ability to make this tricky relationship work. Of course once the two become mated he drops the subject and comes to accept that Neteyam will do whatever he sees as best.

Were Neteyam to find out about Lo'ak and Unip's conversation and how that was what set reader off into a spiral he would be livid with the two. However, reader is not the type of person to tattle on them. Truthfully they weren't doing anything wrong, but she knows how protective Neteyam can be and that he would most likely chew them out for the instance. Unip and Lo'ak have carried on blissfully unaware that they had anything to do with the seperation.
