I wrote exactly one line this weekend, rewrote it half a dozen times, and will probably rewrite it half a dozen more times.

HEADCANON || AUBREY + TOUCH / BEING TOUCHED

I’ve said it once, I’ve said it twice, I’ll say it a hundred times. Aubrey HAS to trust you, in order to be comfortable with letting you touch her, in any way shape or form. Now, with that being said its obvious that she can’t avoid it all the time in her day to day life. For the most part the brief touches she can overlook, but they will fluster her to a certain degree (like bumping into her, or offering her a hand up when she falls) depending on what they are. I think this fact surprises a lot of people because of her attitude most times and how upbeat she can be! So naturally that kind of attitude tends to draw some people closer, kind of like a magnet, but the closer you get to her, the more uneasy her body language will get. 

She prefers to retain a distance between herself and other people, especially strangers. Anybody that she doesn’t trust that goes to put a hand on her shoulder or tries to rest their arm on her head in a playful manner (I mean lets be real that happens a lot with as short as she is), she will physically shy away from in order to avoid being touched. 

Basically, the key to it all, is trust. Which takes a long time for Aubrey to feel towards anybody. The more she trusts you, the less uneasy she’ll be with you being close, the less startled she’ll be when you touch her, etc etc. She is fully capable of being your friend, without fully trusting you.
