When I was a kid, what I wanted to look like when I was older, was to have long colored hair, wear bright colors, chunky earrings of anything I liked, have a tattoo, wear fun makeup, and chunky shoes.
When I was 14, I just wanted to survive, when I was 16 I promised myself I would never grow up.
Im 19 years old. Today I have purple dyed hair, I’m wearing bright pink pants and a glittery star hair clip, my earrings are pink beetles larger than a quarter, I have three tattoos (the first I got when I turned 18 as a reward) I have colored eyeliners I use daily, and I wear my platform boots whenever I want.
A lot of adults look at me like I’m silly, or childish, but I’m gonna live my life doing the things that make me happy because even though I didn’t think I would, I made it! So yeah, I’m gonna wear the clothes I want, Im gonna like what I like and pursue what I want to wear pursue because guess what?
It does get better! and I’m never gonna waste my life fitting the norm when I should be celebrating.
