Dorcas had heard the news and was almost collapsed to the ground, because it could not have happened, could not be mathematically possible that no one was saved.

She was aware of the fact that Marlene was present during the accident, and at first she was angry, because someone of the biggest Dauntless guys would have prevented her to go with them, in fact everyone should avoid doing those dangerous games.

God, how she was mad at all those idiots.

But now none of them were fit enough to breathe and there was nothing more to do: Marlene was g o n e.

Dorcas had left all the Dauntless present in The Pit and she had hidden in her apartment; she started to cry, because all this was not right.

Hands buried in her hair, Dorcas still did not believe what she had heard, until the door of her apartment had not been struck by severe knock.

"Whoever you are, you have ten seconds before you go away or I’ll kick your ass." She said, breathing loudly.

The person outside continued to knock on the door, so Dorcas stood up and went to open the door.

"I told you to leave me alone… Marlene ?!" She asked, puzzled, seeing the girl in front of her, a smile had painted on her face.

Dorcas immediately hugged her, trying not to hurt her views bruises and scratches she reported.

"You should not have died?"
