Why Hogwarts doesn’t teach math: calculations are done magically.
I bet the first thing they do in Astronomy (the class I believe uses the most math: after all, they have to calculate the precise positions of the stars) is show the students how to solve any problem by pointing their wand at a slip of parchment and speaking the math problem out loud.
