Sylvie's key necklaces! They're not just for looking pretty!
The tower has a dungeon, and a very nice one at that. Sylvie has lots of downtime to spend interior designing and cleaning, so don't go picturing it all dark and grungy, it's lovely to stay in! There's a variety of cages and other containment systems for different types of holding. You might be imagining all people down there, but it's usually monsters and creatures, kept in the tower either for spell components or yknow sex. If Sylvie needs a monster brought in or released, they'll just ask whatever adventurer rolls up to deal with it for them, as payment for their magic. Their apprentices are not built for monster wrangling, they can only do so much.
Each of the cages has its own fancy gold key, and Syl will wear the corresponding key when a cage is in-use. For like security reasons (its because they will forget they have stuff down there or lose track of which key is which if they dont). Plus, as an added bonus, when they do have a guest down there with the monsters, it's great for teasing :3c
Request idea for sylvie: sylvie decides to try to escape the tower floating themselves out it in a bubble but once they leave the tower the lose control of their magic floating higher. It isn't bad at first but they begin to panic realising a vibration spell is hitting them thats getting the stronger the further they float away from the tower. Im sure the tower would teleport them back when they reach space.
Ok so ive decided i am Not going to draw this. Because it sounds complicateddd. But i appreciate the suggestion nonetheless <3
I will gladly ramble about my ideas for how the "cannot leave the tower" curse might work mechanically, though. The most fun type of curse is obviously the type with easily twisted wording, like "You cannot step foot outside the tower." But if it was that simple, Sylvie woulda been outta there on a stead or a bubble or something ages ago. The ones who wrote the curse wanted this elf to STAY PUT, they had to be smarter than that. Something less susceptible to wizardly trickery.
I'm picturing it more like an invisible wall. Anything else can pass through these boundaries, maybe even Sylvie's clothes or hair, but for their body, it is like pushing against a solid wall. Opportunities for windowless window sex maybe? The exact definition of where those boundaries are, though, is the question. Maybe it's etched into the very stone the tower is built from, and extends from there to block exit from windows or off the balcony. Like mario 64 infinitely vertical hitboxes...
Maybe the boundaries could even have a failproof measure of ethereal ropes or tentacles to grab them if they slip their way out. Leaving them helpless to anyone around until someone brings them back inside. Or maybe escaping sets off an alarm that brings some constructs or suits of armor to life to wrangle them back home. I'm just saying, there's more exciting retrieval methods than teleportation.
Btw, I mentioned on Sylvie's toyhouse page, but their whole "wish granting" business is like 90% a way to attract people to their tower, since they can't just leave to find folks to flirt with. They can also grant some wishes, but it is Not out of the goodness of their heart or whatever. Wizards only want one thing (strange sex). But ya, Sylvie knows their ways to work around the curse.
