Yeah, sometimes you just have to be straightforward with people. It may feel bad while you are talking to him, but trust me, having the extra space will be worth it. And if he reacts badly, there are ways to keep him at a safe distance. Good luck!

It’s not mean to want some personal space nor is it mean to ask for it (although you shouldn’t have to, you said no already). You are not only allowed to tell that guy to back off, but you are encouraged to because he needs to know that this is not okay.

idk it's just awkward because we were friends before he asked me out and he would hang around with me and my friend at uni which is fine and  from what time we've been at uni (which was only like a week before we broke up for hols) since he asked me out, he was still hanging around with us which is fine because i don't want it to be awkward or anything or to completely ostracize him just because i don't want to date him because i don't think that would be quite fair on him

buuut he's just a little over the top sometimes with the texting asking me how i am and he was even asking to meet up over the holidays and i think he meant one to one and that just isn't going to happen because dude, you asked me out only a little while ago, that would just be kinda weird and now it looks like he's going to be in my group for the next module which will be for like the rest of this semester which kind of makes me want to sigh for a really really long time

and idk i just want him to not be so clingy but i don't know how to explain that to him without sounding like a shitbag
