Jaskier paused, eyes fixing on the other man just long to be slightly uncomfortable. “Why? Why would you say something that horrifying?” His boots were boots, they weren’t supposed to grow anything!

❝So you grew up in the circle?❞ Mairwen asked, perched on the edge of the ledge, looking over. A Knight Enchanter and a healer. The healer part was a big factor in why she’d brought him along, but the whole Knight Enchanter thing was... Interesting to her. And it was an interesting chance to talk to a someone one Giselle’s side. She didn’t hate the woman. She seemed level headed enough, as far as Chantry sisters went. Even relatively admirable from an outside point of view, getting on nobility’s bad side by tending to the poor.

But she didn’t trust anyone so close to the Chantry in general. And Filarick had come to the Inquisition with her group. So she had to decide whether she could trust him or file him under ‘Chantry lot’. ❝What was it like?❞
