I nervously looked at her as she spoke to me still. “So, what are you planning on doing after putting them to bed?” She asked me. I gulped before speaking, my voice slightly cracked at the end. “I was planning on looking online. Just to see what I could possibly do with my kids while we’re here.” I spoke. Gwila nodded before catching my son’s toy that I hadn’t noticed was falling. When she rose up, her face was inches from mine. She smirked as she rose up to tower over me. “Seems your hands are full. Would you want any help?” She teases me. And as much as I hate to admit it, I really do need help. They are heavy as is, the bags are adding to the weight.
Gwila chuckles before grabbing the bags from me. I sighed in relief as I led the way to my apartment. Behind her, I caught a glimpse of her group staring at us. Their gaze was intense to say the least. I hurried along into the elevator, Gwila following along quite easily. I relax once we’re in the elevator and the doors close. As the elevator goes up, I listen to the soft sounds of my little ones sleeping blissfully unaware of the situation. Gwila stands only a mere 3 inches away from me. I only reach her fucking chest. But that's better compared to when I stand near Ambessa. I reach that womans top abs at best. 7’5 of pure muscle. I heard Gwila start to speak, her eyes steady in front of her.
“So, what are their names?” she questions. I peer at her from the corner of my eye before speaking. “My son’s name is Cyrus, and my daughter’s name is Suhaila.” I answered. She nods before speaking again. “So, your daughter is moonlight, and your son is sunlight.” she questions. I once again nod at this. She goes to say something else, but the elevator doors then open. I walked out first, with Gwila not far behind. We kept walking until finally we reached the door to my apartment. I pulled the keys from my pocket, opening the door for the two of us. I can see her from the corner of my eye, looking around and frowning. “You live here alone? No alpha?” She asked.
I can see why she’s asking that; there’s no scent here other than mine and the kids. “No, Cyrus isn’t actually my biological son; he’s adopted. My daughter’s sire didn’t want me any longer, so she’s out of the picture.” I explained, as I put the two of them down on the only bed in the apartment. Gwila’s frown only deepened. “Where do you sleep if they take up the bed?” She asked. I can tell she’s just worrying but she’s sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong. “Miss Gwila, I appreciate the concern but we’re fine. Please leave so I can put them in their pajama’s.” I asked her nicely. I would only ask once.
She gets the memo and nods, walking out of the door. She closes it behind her, leaving me alone where I stand. I sighed as I started getting my two kids ready for bed.
Little omega has got some guts. She sees an alpha who looks like she could tear her to shreds. Yet her first thought is to make sure her kids stay happy. I can’t help but keep falling deeper in love with this little omega. I sighed softly as I walked up to the room, we’re all supposed to be staying in. I get in, already smelling the scent of the others. They claimed their rooms. The only one left is the second smallest bedroom. Guess I'm sleeping with my legs hanging off the bed. I walk into the kitchen, smelling fresh food on the stove. I look around to make sure the coast is clear. I see no one, so I get close to the stove to check it out.
Oh, sweet lords, I knew that I smelled it. Ambessa’s famous gumbo. All sorts of meat and seasonings, vegetables cut to perfect precision. She made the top chef at the largest resort in the world cry from her food. I look around again, trying to make sure no one is around. Once again, the coast is clear. Or so, I thought. I sneak over to the pot and pick up the spoon to try it. I’m quickly chopped though on my lower back as soon as I touch the spoon. “I knew you were going to try it. It’s always you, Mel, or Violet.” Ambessa said with a huff.
I groan as I hold onto the counter. That old woman hits harder than a car. Even if she’s holding back. I sighed as I stood up again, turning to Ambessa. She’s already back at the pot again and stirs it to keep it from bubbling too much in one spot. I sit at the kitchen island again, as I watch and wait. The first plate is mine tonight. I won’t be beaten again by Caitlyn...
I sigh as I finish getting my babies into their PJ’s. Today has been a long time for all of us. So, I know that they’ll be sleeping very good tonight. The hot tub downstairs is open for adults tonight. So, I think I'll head down there. I grab a bag, and fill it with extra clothes, towels, and a robe. I then make sure the two are asleep before I leave. I closed the door behind me, checking twice to make sure I locked it. Once I’m sure, I started walking down to the hot tub area.
Once there I go into the shower room and take a quick rinse. I then change into my bathing suit. I look at myself in the mirror, realizing that I’ve gained some weight in all the right areas. I hum, pleased. I really should appreciate myself more. I walked out to the tub, slowly sinking myself in. Once I was submerged below the water, chest down, I relaxed. When was the last time I relaxed like this without my kids? It felt like ages since I last let myself relax my muscles. Just then I heard the water ripple. Once, twice, thrice, then multiple. I don’t open my eyes, allowing them to think I just didn’t hear them.
“You seemed to be relaxed down here.” Ambessa’s strong voice veered. I opened my eyes, looking at her. She and her group were there. Violet Lanes, Powder Lanes, Caitlyn Kiraman, Cassandra Kiraman, Ambessa Medarda, Mel Medarda, Sevika, Grayson, Elora, Maddie, and multiple others. All women and alphas. I raised a brow at her, tilting my head. “Yes, I thought I’d take this time to relax and clear my head.” I said coolly. She nodded as she and her group began to conversate. I closed my eyes again, folding my legs close to my chest. I could hear a slight grunt from Maddie to my left. Is she hard? Ugh, can’t even relax without some alpha thinking I'm here for their entertainment. If I leave now though, that’ll look suspicious. They’ve given me no reason to avoid them. Not any they know of at least.
A loud bang makes me jump, along with everyone else in the hot tub. We look around for the noise, only for a hotel attendant to apologize profusely. She had bumped over a table, and the glass had broken, which had caused the loud noise we heard. She was obviously more afraid of these women because she knew who they were. Or at least who Ambessa was. She soon left hurriedly, like a beaten dog. I sighed as I got up, making the women turn their heads to me now. “Where are you going?” Caitlyn’s voice echoed. “Back to my room, by now I’m sure that my kids have woken up and want their midnight snack. I also just have a feeling to go check on them.” I spoke. I got out of the hot tub, grabbing the towel I had from the nearby bench. I could hear a few of them grunting, making me move faster. I don’t want them to stare any longer than what’s necessary. I wrap the towel around myself and leave the area, going back to my room.
On the way, a few of the girls from other groups stared at me as I passed them by. What is with these alphas? Not shameless and definitely not subtle. I sighed as I made it to the door and opened it. I walk inside and my kids immediately jump on me. I giggled a bit, kissing their heads. “What’s the matter you two?” I asked. They shook their heads softly. “We’re ok mommy, we just wanted to be near you. When we woke up, you weren’t here though. We thought the monster got you.” My daughter says. “What monster Suhaila?” I asked gently. She and my son point to the balcony of our small space. My nerves shoot through the roof as I urge them to tell me where they saw this ‘monster’ at. They lead me to the balcony and just on the top of a balcony a few meters away, a woman stands. Gold eyes and black hair. Le Blanc. She must be here to keep an eye on the groups here. Her group and these three hate each other.
I usher my kids back inside and bow respectfully before closing the door. “If you ever see that lady up close, don’t go near her. If she tries to talk to you, act like you can’t understand her.” I spoke firmly. My kids nodded before going to the refrigerator. Ugh, maybe I should back track this mission? I mean; I want to take care of my kids but what if they’re used as bait in the future. I won’t be able to protect them every second of this trip no matter how much I may wish to. Ugh whatever, one more day here then I’m going to follow them to the next location. I already have a plan and an alibi if I get caught with the locations on the map. I sighed and opened their snacks for them before sitting down with them on the couch. One more day...
I watched the omega mother as she walked out with her children. They had seen me earlier and had gotten so frightened that they kept peeking at me from behind the curtains. Adorable if you ask me. After a few moments of them presumably on a one-sided game of peekaboo, they stopped. I got curious as to why until a beautiful omega came out with them. I looked at her in awe as she was immediately able to pinpoint exactly where I was. She looked at me before fright and fear took her features. Ah, so she knows who I am. Good, I think I should introduce myself to her tomorrow.
I had noticed earlier when she was entering the pool; everyone kept staring at her. Or more specifically, female alphas. She has them wrapped around her finger and I’m not even sure she knows it. I watch as she enters her room again and closes the balcony door back. I chuckled to myself, excited for what the day ahead had for us all...
I woke up with my little ones on either side of me. My daughter had her head on my chest while my son had his face buried in my side. I smile at this, softly caressing their faces and the tops of their heads. My darling babies, I’ll never allow anyone to hurt you. If they manage to, I’ll kill them and torture them for days with no way out. My babies...
I make sure not to wake them up as I get out of bed and place them closer together under the covers. I stretched before going to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I take a shower, dry off, get dressed, and apply only a little makeup. I felt like doing something to make myself prettier today. After getting dressed for the day, I leave the room quietly. I guess I’ll get breakfast for my little ones since they love the kids’ breakfast deal. Making my way to the elevator, I leaned against the wall after pressing the first-floor button. A hand stops the elevator door before Ambessa and Grayson walk in. I immediately look down at my feet as the two of them keep talking. The ride down is uncomfortable. Ambessa notices me first.
“Ah, [Y/N], How are you and the children doing?” She asked. Both their attention is on me now and it’s suffocating just like in the pool. “My children are fine.” I answered lowly. Grayson queries a brow. “And what about you? She did ask how you were doing to.” She quips. I look at her, watching as she looks at me with unhidden curiosity and something else. “I’m okay.” I answered. “Just, okay? Not great?” Ambessa asked with this stupid smirk on her face. I glared at her, which she chuckled at. “Alright, alright, no need to look at me like that.” She chuckles. I huffed and waited until the door opened to escape these two. When the doors opened, I took a sharp left to the cafeteria in the hotel. I thought I was safe.
Though life is never fair.
The two of them were apparently getting breakfast, too. So, I had to deal with them talking to me the entire way there. They kept asking questions about me and my children, and I’m generally starting to think I’m getting questioned at a police station. When in the line for the buffet with two plates, Grayson noticed I only grabbed one. “Are you not going to eat?” She asked. I suck in my teeth silently to resist the urge to punch her in her gut. Questions get annoying to a point, people. I sighed as I looked at her. “And if I wasn’t? That would be none of your concerns. You’re not my alpha, nor are you a provider for my family. So, you really shouldn’t be asking questions.” I answered. She looked at me a little offended. “I’m just worried about your health. It’s not good to skip breakfast.” She said with a slight grumble.
“Well, you shouldn’t be. I’m a grown omega, who can think rationally. Also, you’re assuming that I'm not getting breakfast just because I only grabbed two plates.” I spat. I turn my head away as I get to the food. I carefully chose what to put on my kids' plates. I don’t want them to eat anything bad but also, I don’t want to take away fun options. I place mini pancakes and chocolate syrup on the side, along with fruits. I make sure to get sausage and bacon for them too. Ambessa is watching me like a hawk as she tilts her head. “Watching their health?” She asked.
I should’ve known she would know why I was picking these. “Yes, my daughter doesn’t like eating a lot of things, but she needs to maintain a healthy weight.” I spoke. She nodded as we kept going down the line. “And your ‘son’?” She asked. Her tone suggested that she knew he wasn’t biologically my son, but instead my brother. If so, that means she knows about other things as well. But why would she look for anything about me? I haven’t shown any suspicious behavior. At least none that I can think of. “He’s fine, he just prefers to copy my diet a lot. They both do.” I muttered. She nodded as they both still watched me carefully. I got to the end and immediately started walking away from them.
If they know about my son, what else do they know?...
