❝ YOU SAID YOU WERE HAVING SOME—— issues, with a few of your fellow classmates. ❞ It was of no surprise, really. Even Morticia had held her fair share of a few unfortunate mishaps among her peers. ❝ Have you tried… eating them? ❞ Maybe not all of them, of course, but the select few who couldn't quite take the hint to back off when they rightfully should have. Acts of overpowering in superiority as well as some light torture could only go so far with some.
@woedensdag asked: ❛ It’s a promise. ❜
IT SEEMED ONLY NATURAL FOR A MOTHER to be concerned with leaving their child at a place like Nevermore. It would be months before she'd be able to see little Eddie again after all, which was a strange thing. Not having him come home every day after school, another mouth to feed but she was going to miss his late night howling. Thankfully, he'd have a familiar face and friend to associate with and that gave her some comfort. Especially with Wednesday's promise to look after him, it caused her to smile even softly. Had the young girl not been so opposed to the simple gestures of touch, Lily might have touched one of her pigtails in gratitude but thought better of reaching out. ❝ Thank you, dear. That does mean a lot to me. How have you been fairing here at Nevermore? Do you like it? ❞
what are you working on ?

"I'm checking financial records for Tully to look over when he stops by tomorrow" Gomez replied, his nose wrinkling. "Dull work as usual — I long for something more interesting." He looked up from the ledger, taking note of his daughter's general demeanour.
"Can't sleep?"
It was a routine for her to visit him like this when she had trouble shutting her mind off and resting. Gomez pushed his chair back a bit and gestured her forward. "Come here and rest your mind, paloma. This work will most certainly lull you to sleep." It was having that affect on him and he'd only just started his work!
@woedensdag asked: In rarity that Wednesday would wake in the middle of the night. To enter the privacy of her parents bedroom was nearly unheard of for the little girl who craved her Mother's comfort. "Mère?" A soft whisper, tiny hands reaching to grasp the comforter and offered a gentle tug. "Can I sleep with you tonight?"
EYES SLOWLY FLUTTERED TO OPEN at the sound of her daughter's voice. The gentle tug of the comforter being another clear indication of disruption and yet, Morticia clearly didn't seem to mind. Head turning, she lifts herself up a bit and scoots away from the edge of the bed in order to provide some room. ❝ Of course, ma petite chauve-souris. ❞She says softly, lifting up the comforter.

"You."
There was no point in denying it - Enid had long since given up reading her history textbook. Usually, she sat in the courtyard to study during Wednesday's "Writing Time" but tonight was the full moon, and all the other furs were talking about was the moon. All the sideways looks from other students - because of course everyone knew about Enid's problem - hurt almost as much as -
Well. Listening to Wednesday's typewriter was still preferable to listening to everything the other students didn't say.
Enid propped her chin on her hands and nodded towards the pile of pages on Wednesday's desk.
"I like watching you write. You're. . . " Enid wouldn't say Wednesday looked happy, per se - but there was something about the determined focus, the scathing gaze that scanned each page before discarding it or adding it to her pile. . . "You enjoy it, don't you?"
A moment of weakness, how unlike her. Long ago had Wednesday vowed herself that whatever may come, her Mother would never be upon the list of guides to seek wisdom from - but curiosities led her here. "Mother," Her presence could not be ignored when Wednesday called, even unwillingly. "Your visions. How did you learn to manage them?"
𝔄𝔱 𝔩𝔞𝔰𝔱. ——— For untold centuries their ancestors had passed the torch from mother to daughter, carrying with them the knowledge and traditions other families had long since lost or discarded. At some point the Addams Matriarch had come to fear that the line would end here. The tragic irony of it hadn't been lost on her. Wednesday was a perfect blend of Addams luridness and Frump cunning, and yet she spurned her lineage.... Perhaps that was about to change.
A single brow arched on an otherwise expressionless face, gesturing for her daughter to have a seat.
❝ Everyone has a different technique. Some, like your great Aunt Lavinia's aren't helpful at all.❞ Dear Lavinia. Sleeping upside down for months in a remote cave atop the Andes had done little to stop the visions. Instead she had developed some other unusual bat-like tendencies in her absence. ❝ ——— I try to find something to ground me in the present, a strong memory or feeling. After all, .... A fettered vulture cannot fly. ❞
