Not related to any one post or incident but I feel like a good bit of damage came from people seeing blocking, DNI’s, muting, and other forms of managing your internet experience as inherently hateful and directed.

We have these wonderful platforms where you can customize and curate your internet experience to your comfort but if part of that comfort is not wanting to interact with someone it clearly must be out of spite (sarcasm)

Yes it pains me that animus dragons with histories of being mistreated will have their eventual spiral be blamed on the circumstances of their birth and existence. Yes it pains me that this would have happened to any of our modern animus dragons had they hurt anyone, and by extension dragons like peril who were already deemed “naturally evil”. Yes this blame will be used to further ostracize and harm future dragons with their powers.

Yes I have a stigmatized disability how could you tell.

Hot take but I think that if ESSAs weren’t so often used by children (who don’t always have the ability to advocate for other aids or recognition to their health conditions) and thus “open for mockery” I don’t think I would see as many people treating those who use ESSAs as a monolith open for scrutiny.
