During the match between Orlando Pride and NC Courage, both teams paid tribute to player Luana Bertolucci, an Orlando Pride athlete who was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Orlando team this season after brilliant spells with teams like Corinthians and PSG. Everyone expected Luana to be one of the key players for the team from Florida, but after a few matches her presence disappeared without any explanation. It was only at the beginning of this week that she spoke out on her Instagram and revealed her sad diagnosis of Hodgkins lymphoma.

Known for being a player with great intelligence, skill and passion, Luana was considered one of the names guaranteed to be in the Brazilian team for the Olympics this summer.

Shortly before the start of the match we were informed that she had undergone her first chemotherapy session 💜

Luana will be assisted by the Orlando Pride medical team and also the Brazilian team. The fight won't be easy, but we're with you in this Lu!
