WOKE BRANDS
So I was going to show my brother a video about woke brands, but he misread woke as vore
Him: I thought it said vore
Me: jesus, yeah. No, I can't think of any brand that would actually, actively endorse vore
Him:... kirby?
Seriously y'all any time you feel motivated to spend money on something because it's making assholes mad please stop and reconsider because it's very likely that you're falling for a marketing strategy wherein companies intentionally provoke bigoted backlash to make themselves look good and encourage spite spending
This was, as always, enlightening. I figured Nike and Gilette knew what they were doing, but I didn’t know they had made that much money from angry people. And just when you start to feel good about life, hbomberguy reminds us of child labor! I love that guy!
Hey everyone considering buying Mortal Kombat 11 because of the female character design improvements and the prevent-the trans-Atlantic-slave-trade character ending and/or to spite all the greasy straight white gamer bros who are mad about it, please read this new article about the appalling working conditions at the game's studio. As per usual, a company putting up a social justice front is guilty of massive labor abuses that undercut whatever humanitarian image they're trying to project and profit from.
Please don't buy this game to reward the company behind it for being "woke." Your money would be going to the people responsible for downright inhumane treatment of the employees who actually made the game.
EDIT: If you're like me and absorb information better in video form, Jim Sterling put out a video today about the article and you can check it out here.
