Danny phantom Season 3 highlights
Since i explained my mixed feelings about this season writing in my rant i want to talk about the good stuff.
1)The pranks in "Eye for an eye" are hilarious.
The decision of Vlad becoming Amity Park mayor was indeed a weird one. On the other hand, as childish as it was, Danny and Vlad pulling pranks on each other is really funny. To be fair to Danny, Vlad has been annoying him since they first met. It's understandable. It was impulsive of him provoking Vlad, but it's not like he didn't have it coming.
2) While he's simple villain in this season, Vlad is a fun antagonist.
I got to be honest, Vlad was pretty fun in "Eye and eye" and "Infinity realms". He still was this powerful, manipulative and crazy ghost who put up a real challenge for Danny. Their interactions were quite funny too. That was a aspect he didn't lose in season 3.
3) Danny's ice powers were awesome
I really liked the introduction of this power. Danny's powers were mostly standars ghost powers but this? It's his. It's a great concept to explore. Does every ghost has his own power? Is it related to their obsession? I love how DP fanfics expand this concept, it has a lot of potencial.
4) The infinity map was a concept with potencial.
A map that allows you to travel in time? It's amazing. Imagine the main trio visiting different eras to retrieve artifacts or chasing bad guys. Clockwork could have played a role here, as a guide for Danny to use the map correctly. They could have written an entire arc with this. Instead of one episode, it could have been 5-6 episodes about the heroes chasing Vlad through time.
5) D-stabilized was a great episode.
Now, this is how season 3 should have been. This episode it's great in many ways: It's dark like "Kindred spirits". Danielle being a unstable clone and why she's different from the other clones is adressed. Vlad was his old self again. Valerie making friends with Dani and learning the truth about Vlad's identity. You can write entire arcs with this. It's a pity we didn't get to see more of Valerie and Dani. They are cool characters in their own.
6) They brought back Wolf.
In another post i made, i expressed how i would have liked for Wolf to have been in more episodes. In "Claw of the wild" he helps Danny to fight Skulker. I wished this episode had been more about him and Wolf than DannyxSam. The episode is decent, though.
7) Amorpho was a nice antagonist
For me, he remind me more of the villains from season 1 and 2. He had his own personality and he wasn't totally evil. He admited he was wrong and how messing up with Danny wasn't right. He really means no real harm. He just wants attention since he lacks identity.
There you have it. A few things a liked from this season. The reasons of why i didn't think it was terrible, just decent.
