Do Ghosts Age?
I’m not sure because it’s all rather contradicting…
1, Yes, ghosts can age.
as seen in The Ultimate Enemy, ghosts can grow ‘older’ in a sense. Their children can also presumably age, though that’s a whole other can of worms I’m not sure any tumblr fish will bite.
so this would mean Ember only died as of very recent to be as she is, but she also wasn’t given much lore to go off of. If she did die a teenager, it would only be in the span of the past few years.
2, no, Ghosts cannot age
However, Sidney Pointdexter is supposed to be from the 1950’s, and the wiki (unofficially) stated he was likely in his late teenager years. So why wouldn’t he be a much older ghost by now?
3, likely answer, it’s a matter of shapeshifting
Ghosts can shapeshift. Duh. Clockwork does it all the time! However, it seems to be more of a quirk of just his, as no other ghost we see changes forms like that.
and if ghosts can alter their form to appear older than when they died… why? Why would they? And more alternatively, why haven’t some? Pointdexter is stuck in purgatory high school hell for being, well, weak and nerdy. If having the option, why wouldn’t he transform himself (and not just for clarity’s sake let’s imagine this outside of the episodes)?
shapeshifting or changing forms seems to be a more selective ability. It is most likely only an Amorpho trait to fully copy someone. Clockwork only transforms between limited versions of HIMSELF. Bertrand can only become animals (as far as I remember).
In conclusion:
I don’t fucking know
