Wolf Jim and Ram John
Ram John wandering the woods one day and stumbling upon little wolf pup Jim cuddling with his dead family, face streaked with tears and eyes swollen shut, little body thin from lack of milk, making pitiful whimpering noises.
Ram John being unable to abandon the pup in case the hunters that killed his family return or he starves, so he wraps him up in a blanket and carries him to his cave, feeding him what he has and making him a bed with wool and straw and cuddling close to him to keep him warm through the night.
Wolf Jim slowly developing an interest in humans, begging John to come with him to watch the people in the nearby village and sometimes sneaking off to steal human clothes so he can disguise himself. John being afraid that Jim is too reckless but gradually becoming more relaxed about it as they both get better at blending.
Wolf Jim growing into a big and strong teenager, slaughtering anyone that threatens his John, until one day he urges him to move with him to London so they can get away from predators once and for all. John taking some time to decide but eventually agreeing because it makes sense.
Ram John removing his horns and always wearing a hat to cover the ground down stumps. Jim teaching him to walk like a human and to hide his legs under baggy pants. Jim using rocks to chisel down his teeth so they aren’t as sharp.
Wolf Jim and ram John moving into the city, John working at a grocery store and Jim quickly learning how to work a computer so he can work in the IT department of St Bart’s. Wolf Jim getting John into the medical program there with the money he makes and steals, rapidly building a criminal empire on the side to fight back against the humans that wronged him. Adult wolf Jim eventually tracking down the hunters that killed his family and tearing them to shreds.
Ram John staring in horror as wolf Jim returns to their little flat, mouth and clothes covered in blood, but not asking any questions until he’s helped him bathe and gotten him into bed, because he’s so stunned that the pup he saved has turned into such a fearsome beast, but not certain why he’s not scared himself.
“The humans that killed your family?”
“Not all of it.”
Jim holding John all night long, promising him that from now on, he’s going to protect them properly, not like an animal, but with the lives of humans instead.
