i'm incredibly behind on my inbox and mentions (when am i not? lmao) but this time i have a very good excuse which is that i am writing sickeningly sweet and indulgent viarook filth AND IT SHOULD BE DONE BY TONIGHT!!!!! merry fucking christmas!!!
Once a week it appears that I develop a newer, hornier crush on some dragon age character and my wip pile grows more precarious.
My dnd session got canceled tonight so once I’m finished running errands I’m getting an iced latte bigger than my head, going home, and catching up on tag games *cracks knuckles* lets fuckin go
Oops! Guess who is behind on tag games again? ME! Also I haven’t forgotten about the incredible fic-recs sitting in my asks. I promise I’m working through them. 🫡❤️
I love how I’m always a few years (minimum) late to things that become hyperfixations for me lmao. BG3 and dragon age are still current but slowly edging out of the zeitgeist and I’m over here digging my claws into the fading relevancy like no no NOooo NO COME BACK
Just now getting to the final fight in veilguard and I have to say this pre-fight cutscene with elgar’nan is what sold me on his voice actor. Up until this point I was pretty meh (which made me sad, especially considering it’s Joseph Capp who did phenomenal VA work as Nere in bg3) but it finally clicked!
Idk, I guess it was just the right combo of visual, script, and direction? I don’t really play games with VA/plot; bg3 was my first real experience with an rpg as someone who gravitates towards sims, citybuilders, etc. And I think it has ruined me for all rpgs going forward because nothing will ever hold a candle to what larian managed to pull off. It’s even more clear with an example like this. Same actor voicing a villain role in a fantasy world but the difference in quality of script and direction changes everything.
(And that’s not even to say I think the writing or direction for elgar’nan is bad, because I don’t! it’s just so drastically incomparable to what larian managed 😭)
everyone has left the most lovely comments on that davrin x rook fluff piece and i'm literally kicking my feet and twirling my hair YALL ARE SO NICE 😭
