ON WOLF OUT
After a summer of being terrorized by both the bloodthirsty leader of the alpha pack, Deucalion, and by a vengeful darach-- revealed to be their English teacher, Miss Blake, who was really a woman named Julia Bacari-- everything finally came to a head for the Beacon Hills pack when Chris Argent, Melissa McCall, and Sheriff Stilinski were all captured by the darach, who intended to sacrifice them. Though the results of the battles were not something anyone could have predicted...
The pack split up into groups to search for the missing parents before it was too late. After a vision from Daria led them in the right direction, and a realization about the currents and the area in the woods where they converge, Allison, Lydia, Stiles, and Daria found the missing parents, who were being held captive beneath the roots of the nemeton. But while they were rescuing them, a storm, conjured by Jennifer, raged outside, threatening everyone in Beacon Hills, including the pack members out in the storm. Fiona, Brian, Natalie and Riley managed to stop the storm through their combined efforts...and by directing the power of the storm to Fiona. Why was she able to handle all of that magic? Newcomer to Beacon Hills Gabe seems to know...and he knows Fiona, Erica, and the Rivers family, as well. Meanwhile, Katie and Derek attempted to save Cora from the hex placed on her by Jennifer, and Katie cast a blood spell that protected the Hales from danger...and just in time, too, as the spell saved Jackson’s life during a battle with the darach. The battle with the darach took place at Derek’s loft, where it was revealed that she had been using hex bags on Derek in order to control and manipulate him. The battle caused a change in Connor, and brought him back to a place where he was able to torture others. He lost sense of himself and of caring for the others, and used them as a distraction in order to get to Jennifer-- a tactic not missed by Jackson. After the others were out of the building, Connor killed Jennifer Blake. During this time, Scott, Erica, Boyd, Rory, Rollin, Lauren, and Gabriel were entrenched in a battle with Deucalion, as well...a battle that ended when Rory decapitated Deucalion using the war sword. After coming to at Deaton’s clinic, a horrified Leah still healed Cora, but found herself heartbroken and afraid, and unsure of what to do next.
Though the battle and the imminent danger is passed, there are still scars left over from the events of the summer. Derek and Connor are both coping with what happened (and perhaps not in the healthiest of ways), and both Leah and Cora are learning what it’s like to live without their captor who became something of a parental figure. Friends outside of the pack like Sandy and Kendall have expressed concern about what was going on with their friends over the summer and have been apologized to. Lydia is learning about what it means to be a banshee, and Allison is learning about what it means to be a leader. And, upon finally being free, Lauren returned to New York to adopt her former foster sister, Noelle, and bring her back to Beacon Hills. Lucy and Isaac have moved back into the loft, and Connor has, too. And Erica came up with the perfect plan to start the school year off right: with a bonfire down by the ravine.
While the pack had a blast just hanging out and having fun together, the bonfire revealed a few things, too. Sandy noticed a car down in the ravine, and upon further research, learned that it was the wreckage left over from a crash involving the Tate family...a crash that was also said to involve an animal attack. Sandy revealed to Scott that she and Duncan used to be next door neighbors to Rory and Rollin in Minnesota, and that she’s questioning all of the animal attacks.
But Sandy isn’t the only one with questions. Kira revealed to Allison that was attacked by someone or something with glowing blue eyes while living in Brooklyn, and Allison explained the truth to Kira. In turn, Kira showed Allison one of her abilities. Derek suspects that Kira is something, and it looks like he’s right. But what is she? And is it possible that the mysterious girl who saved her in New York was Lo?
Beacon Hills has another newcomer, as well: Jordan Parrish, a new member of the police force. He came to Beacon Hills for the job, but could there be another reason for his presence in town?
How is Gabe connected to Erica, Fiona, and Sandy? Will Sandy find out the truth? And how will everyone cope with the events of the summer, on top of the new school year? Can Boyd help Leah, and can the pack accept her? Noelle wants the bite; will she be able to convince Lo to give it to her? What caused Daria to get sick? Not to mention that Erica believes that the scales will tip again...and she’s probably right. After all, this is Beacon Hills...
