Wolves hunt the weakest and most diseased animals of a herd - by doing this they keep the herd healthy. Wolves take care of their old and weak. Every pack has 3-4 generations of wolves. Around 3 years old a wolf leaves the pack to look for a mate to create a new pack. There is only one breeding season every year in Feb-March. A male and female mate for life. Every member of a pack takes care of a pup. #wolf #wolves #wolfresearch

In the late 1970s, there were only 7 Mexican Grey Wolves (the original "lobo") left in the world. Now there are a total of 75. Wolf re-introduciton is easier in the north (Montana) than in the south (Texas). Ranchers in the north own the land whereas ranchers in the south rent public land. #wolfresearch #wolf #wolves
