"Some time ago," shared @lilithdivineartist, "I saw an article on the pollution of the sea. They talked about what damages and atrocities can be caused - even a simple plastic straw: often sea turtles have been found with straws stuffed into their small nasal holes.... I was so affected by that bad image and it filled me with anger and indignation. There are laws, there are decrees, and they are not respected at all. There are not controls on disposable plastic. In fact, they are ignored. We have to start giving proper weight to these problems. We can no longer ignore them." Credit © 🎞 ✅ @thejourney_and_thedestination Beautiful photo ✒ #Repost @thejourney_and_thedestination —— thejourney_and_thedestination ~~~ “50 shades of grey and black!” . . Spent the afternoon with the northern resident orca whales (A50’s and A54’s) and a small pod of pacific white sided dolphins. The dolphins are lucky they didn’t end up on the lunch menu, as the resident killer whales only eat fish. . The dolphins are very fast swimmers, hence difficult to photograph. I was happy when several surfaced at the same time as the orcas!! . It was lovely day with haze and fog making for an interesting backdrop for the photo. . . . . . . #pacificnorthwest #northvancouver #blackfishsound #orcas #killerwhales #northernresidentkillerwhales #emptythetanks #bigocean #orcawhale #wildlifefriend #nofishnoblackfish #blackfish #animalconservation #savetheocean #wildlifeplanet #naturelover #wanderlust #passion_passport #hellobc #britishcolumbia #animals_in_world #instagood #dolphinsofinstagram #cetaceans #whalewatching #marinelife #whalesofinstagram #dolphins🐬 #canadatravel (at Blackfish Sound) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cghj8ipqnp9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It's September 22nd, 🦏 World Rhino Day. This day is important. Rhinoceroses once roamed throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa and were known to early Europeans who depicted them in cave paintings. At the beginning of the 20th century, 500,000 rhinos roamed the planet. By 1970, rhino numbers dropped to 70,000, and today, there are only 28,000 left. Very few of them survive outside of national parks and reserves due to persistent poaching and habitat loss. Four of the five remaining species are threatened with extinction; three, critically – which means they could well go extinct within our lifetime.
The root cause of the poaching is the use of rhino horn in traditional medicines and as dagger handles. Let's all do what we can to help curb the demand for rhino horn and protect our remaining animals so future generations can enjoy and admire these noble creatures as much as we do. ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet
PSA to amphibian, reptile, insects and cetacean lovers! Animal conservation pageantry This is gonna be a downer compared to my other posts, but I've always been environmentalist at heart, I'm just caught up with surviving, so here's an environmental issue. So apparently, funding has been more allocated towards conservation of endangered "charismatic" animals, particularly Tigers, lions, lynxes and the likes, while other animals like whales, salamanders, amphibians and insects, gets the least funding. I get it, its easier to conserve land mammals than those you can barely see or in the ocean, and lots of geopolitics come in play because of territorial waters, stupid tradition hunting/whaling and pseudo medicines. I'm cutting this short, because geopolitics is another topic. So what can we do? I'm not rich nor capable of travelling to be able to participate in charities and environmental programs, so for now all I can do is raise awareness and trying to practice the 5 R's; Reduce, refuse, recycle, reuse and rot. Refuse the ridiculously overpriced generic housing that continuously encroaches forested and coastal areas, and reuse/buy properties in old villages/suburbs or towns, its a plus that you'll get more freedom in designing the façade of your dream home than those in Mcvillages. Reuse old furniture from garage sales and surplus, to slow down illegal logging; its more stylish and old furniture have more character and perfect accent for a minimalist lifestyle. Refuse/reduce online shopping; you know which country most of your belongings came from, the more you buy from them, the more you contribute to their economy, the more they hoard the oceans just outside territorial waters. Do anything to slow down deforestation. Do anything that could put a dent to consumerism. Doing so will somehow protect the habitats of most animals than just the charismatic ones. We shouldn't wait for frogs and other animals to end up in breeding/cloning programs.
I love my Sigma 600mm lens 😍📷 It’s great for wildlife photography because you can zoom in really close and capture details of the animal, especially if it’s a tiny bird that’s far away on the African savanna… But let me tell you. My arms are shaking from holding that big thing up to my eyeball. It’s so heavy 😣 I also have zero upper body strength, so there’s that. ______________________ CHECK OUT MY STORE!
