He had to keep running. The hunters had come out in much larger groups than before. It seemed that they were ready this time. He would have liked to have warned Ruby about their increase in activity, but she likely was already aware.
He could feel it in the back of his mind. It knew what was coming. He could feel it pushing him to give it control, just a little sooner, but Dameon would not give in. Dameon knew that he would not have a choice in the matter soon, but he was going to hold out against the beast as long as he could.
He had lost track of how long they had been chasing him, but that didn't matter. These hunters did not stand a chance. The Beast was a formidable enemy in it's usual state, but the shades seem to think that it's sight has returned, an event that will likely prove fatal for any it encounters.
The usual pain arrives after a moment. Dameon groans. He yells out to the hunters who he can hear very close by. "You may as well turn. He is here and there is nothing you nor I can do. If you wish to live, you should run."
He can feel the transformation begin, but there is something different about it this time. It takes him a moment to realize it. He can still see. Which means the Beast can as well.
It seems the shades were right.
