Set during 3B and its aftermath. The blacklight party at the loft leaves Stiles with more than one revelation playing on his mind. He's losing time, and apparently he might be more than just a little bit interested in Derek Hale. By the time he's fought off the Nogitsune and somehow lived to tell the tale, the rest of Stiles' sanity might just rest on Derek, the Camaro, and a few hundred miles of Pacific Coast Highway. It's going to be one hell of a road trip.

Okay folks! This Beast has been kept under wraps since April, and now it's finally out for the world to see. Hooray! The original idea made for @sterekreversechallenges was a simple palette of blacks, greys and golds with some melty painty thing going on for our fav boys. When @wolfspurr snatched this piece right up, I was super excited because I adore her writing so much. Working with her was fun with squeeing and screaming, but that didn't come without whining and a whole roller coaster of other feels (because Stiles and Derek made us work to get this whole collab to be exactly the way we wanted it). The journey to make this particular Sterek story come to life was such a crazy one, and it was worth the endless hours of enthusiasm and labor of love we put in. And heyyy, I also got to make two more additional art pieces! So, if you want some good ol' college fun, humor, fluff, and angst with some spice, please give this story a read and some love!

The sun and sand, some tasty waves, and a salt-filled breeze are all Derek needs.

Somehow, Stiles works his way into the equation.

[excerpt]: Stiles looks out toward the water. The sun's rays catch him at an angle that makes his eyes look golden, and Derek can see the individual grains of sand that dust his face. "You know the worst thing about it all?" Stiles asks softly. "It's that I'm going to be known forever as the goofy sidekick on a kid's show. Like, that's my legacy." Derek takes a deep breath. He can relate. He was once considered a prodigy in the surfing world: touted as the next Kelly Slater after he'd won several local competitions right out of high school and then the Billabong Pipeline Masters at twenty, followed by a second-place finish at qualifiers for the US Open of Surfing. The recognition was heady; the groupies and sponsors, more so. And then there was Kate, who had entered Derek's life as hot and quick as wildfire before razing his world to the ground.

Now that reveals have been posted for @stereksecretsanta, I can finally share this lovely piece I got to draw for @wolfspurr! You can also view I Believe on AO3. She had mutual pining and getting together on her list. So, since I wanted to capture some holiday spirit...this happen. With the magic, a tangle of Christmas (fairy) lights, and yeahhh, a first kiss between Stiles and Derek! This was such a great piece to make, as it's been a while since I've worked a little looser than the previous works I've made in the last few months. Plus, this year has been such a challenging one to get through, so I thought something a little more romantic was definitely a must. And this color palette, winter vibes and soft boys? Yasss! <3 Wolfspurr, thanks for being an amazing writer and for being part of this fandom. I'm so glad I got to collab with you this year for RBB, and happy to call you a friend (so we can scream about all the silly things)! Today

Derek loved having the whole pack around. He grew up with a house full of pack and he loved the chaos that came with it. Every day, his pack seemed to get closer to each other. 

When Stiles moved in, it felt like everything was finally complete.

Derek loved sitting with a hot cup of tea and watching the pack. The way that Erica sought physical affection from everyone, scent marking without thinking about it. Boyd was great at stepping in whenever the pack started to bicker, and they all seemed happy to listen to the Beta.

Cora took a while to warm up to everyone. Sometimes Derek could see the child she was before the fire in how she acted. She joined Peter in his quest to make the pack act like a “proper” pack.

5. What’s something you learned while researching a fic?

When I was writing my In Love's Labyrinth, I did a lot of research on fight clubs, underground rings, and how they get funding for locations. I managed to find an underground fight ring that had social media and events - I even managed to reach out to one of the social media managers to ask things about donations/event planning in general terms. It was actually super cool to immerse myself in that world for a while to make the most realistic fight ring I could in the realm of fantasy. I might go back to the fight club scene in another fic just because I have so much left over research.

16. What do you struggle with most when writing?

Not putting every single detail. I have piles and piles of research for everything in a fic - Restaurant menus, clothing the character has in their closet, house plans & floor plans, directions and navigation on how to get to places, the music the person is listening to, shower products the character uses - and I barely scratch the surface of it because not everyone wants to know it. I have research degrees for a reason and trimming it down for presentation is part of it. But god do I want everyone to know exactly everything I know.
