White Lines. {A Wolfstiel Drabblelikethingy}
Send me a ☠ and my muse will react to finding your muse dead.
" white lines and headlights in my eyes"
The worst thing about being a hunter, as of now, was the traveling. It had been one of her favorite parts for years. The whole being able to always visit new places and never once come back to the same place twice. Just her and the open road. Really, it had been the dream. But then, out of nowhere that had changed. One pair of clear cerulean blue eyes, that seemed to hold all the sorrow in the universe, a lopsided grin and a head full of ruffled and unkempt brown-black hair and everything had changed. One random meeting in a bar and her life had been turned upside down, even without her knowing it in the beginning. And now, she hadn't seen him in ages, her job sending her all over the country.
" i've tried to get some distance in between my heart and my head "
Probably, she could have picked cases closer to where Cas resided, so that she could stay close. But the intensity of the feelings she had for him sacred her senseless. It wasn't to hide under a rock. And Wolfe, when it came to things like feelings, preferred to run headfirst in the other direction. And thus, loathe as she was to admit it, she had probably used her job and deliberately picked strange happenings far away. It was a constant battle between her heart and her mind. But now, now she was on her way home again.
" white lines, i'm ready to drive all night "
Route 66 was long. And even though she had driven it a couple of times before, it had never been this endless. The desert-like scenery was monotonous, bordering on drab once the darkness spread across it. But even though she was tired as frickin' hell, the blonde would not stop for the night. Instead she turned up the volume on the stereo and put a little more weight on the accelerator, the car purring almost happily over being able to actually work a little on the open road. With a smile she saw the needle climb over 120 {km/h} and leaned back in the driver's seat, her thoughts drifting off to where she imagined Cas' reaction of her surprise return just as the sun peeked over the horizon, painting the sky in a specter of brilliant golden tones. Any other time she would probably have stopped just to admire the sight, but not today.
" white lines will bring me home "
Turning in on the street she had learned to know so well by now, she parked outside the house. Dean and Cas' house. But not anymore, she wondered at times why the fallen angel never had moved from there, but she guessed it had to do with holding on to the past. and while the huntress knew all about that, she couldn't help but feeling small jolts of jealousy at the thought. Grabbing her bag from her trunk, she basically ran up the front stairs and knocked. And knocked again. But no one opened. Frowning she opened the door and peeked inside. Everything was silent, but considering the time, it wasn't all that strange so Wolfe stepped inside, dropping the bag on the floor before she moved to the livingroom, where the TV-seemed to be on. Cas had most likely fallen asleep in front of it. Smiling fondly she tip-toed around the corner and, yes, Cas were sprawled out on the couch, eyes closed, looking peaceful as ever.
" i kissed you and the sun began to shine "
"Hey, stranger." No movement at all. Alright.. Wolfe moved closer, kicking some bottles with something out of the way, making just enough noise that he should actually at least start to wake up. Frowning she knelt by his face and kissed his cheek, her heart speeding up slightly by the coolness radiating from him. "Hey, Cas, wake up sunshine." her hand ran through his hair a couple of times, still no reaction. Fearing the worst she glanced around quickly, and just as her hand found that there was no pulse, her eyes caught sight of white stripes on the small table. No. It could not be. Not her Cas. Behind her the sun filtered through the curtains, making his hair look more golden brown than black where the early rays touched them. Reflecting in tears that had landed on his face without her even noticing, making them sparkle slightly, like small diamonds. Slowly she bent down and kissed his lips. "You can't be gone. Not you." Tears were falling freely now. How could he be gone. How.. And, just like that, she was all alone again. "You promised..." she wanted to punch him. "You promised you wouldn't leave me." Now what. One thing was for sure, she wouldn't leave him. Exhaustion took over and she laid her head down on his chest, half expecting to hear his heart beating steadfast, but it was silent. And cold. "I loved you." she whispered brokenly and closed her eyes.
" It seems like I'm on my own. It feels like I'm losing it all... "
