Yesterday I went to a ren fair and I was off the mead and I bought this “gollum” inspired hand made soap and in the moment I was really vibing but after bringing it home it’s starting to scare me. It smells EXACTLY like what I think a dark cave would smell like which is like wet and dirt and worms. It’s such a weird scent I’m sorry I can’t send this with smell-o-vision but like legit it just smells like wet cave. Anyway what do you think Gollum smells like? Is dirt and wet and worms accurate ?

UH YHUH this is awesome actually weird question would u have any idea of what the actual scent note names are or LIEK ALSO if the maker has an online store id love to. LOL. LMAAOAO. I WANT IT

Well tolkien said he washes in puddles so i think he smells like a freaking caveman but certainly apart from that he totally smells like wet dust and especially worms. Oh and mildew i think he has really strong metallic mildew notes. The soap sounds really awesome im really jealous actually and the colour is good too. GROWLS.

Horrible thing but Ive been searching for a "wet dirt" scent since forever , it's like my dream fragrance.... not entirely for gollum reasons but partially im sure. YAY

What’s your female male hypothesis? (Sorry if this is something you’ve posted about at length and I just missed it)

HAHAHAH i literally made it up in my head or thought i did, last term.

But the gist of it: lets assume you have your 'man' role and your 'woman' role, as concieved of by a hypothetical rigidly structured conservative society.

The 'man' role denotes someone who is in control of their life and competes actively with other 'men', other active participants.

The 'woman' role is fulfilled by reliance on the 'man' , and the lack of competition with any aforementioned men.

By this metric, the minute any person takes control of their life and competes with other self-possessed persons, they fulfil the role of 'man'. Conversely, If they instead rely on and never compete with the 'men' in their life, they become a 'woman'.

And I brushed this off as some silly stuff last term when I thought of it on my own. But I just finished a 40-page reading all about alternative power-based socially structured genders, and it ended off pretty much saying exactly what I just explained. We have our female Man, and our male Woman.

Obviously there's way more to say here, but something about the logic feels concrete to me. I wish I had more time to read and understand these concepts.

Season 4 of The Last Ship is over and this is as far as they’ve gone but holy smokes. if they’re this hot and they aren’t official yet I can’t wait to see what happens when they are.

Not to be mean, but I really doubt you can go essay to essay with that anon cuz they probs don’t got any essays. I really doubt they have anything interesting to say about art history themselves cuz the kind of comment they left comes from a place of being too self conscious to express their own ideas. When someone can’t express themselves, they wanna shut others down too. I don’t think anyone should stop themselves from challenging you, I think sometimes debating against a point can be harder than making a point. But that’s not what this person was doing, they were just trying to shut you down. Their criticisms was vapid and didn’t have a point. I don’t think it matters at all that you’re not an expert in your field or whatever, it’s not like your out here spreading false information. You’re simply trying to express your ideas the best you can, which can honestly be really scary and challenging. We, as a society, should all try and engage with things past the surface level when we can, even if we sometimes come off as vapid and don’t have a point! It’s worth a shot! It’s worth it to get your brain moving! To keep practicing until we have something clever to say! (Not that you have ever come off as vapid, but you know, it's all up to interpretation)

No i know, and you've pegged the needle on what I was trying to do there. Anon seemed frustrated with no outlet, and I was hoping to be encouraging to them! they seem to have the right idea, questioning the world around them!

I've been anon, expressing myself in a frustrated way. The last thing i needed was to be talked down to, apart from maybe a little good-natured ribbing. These lines on inquiry need to be encouraged, IMO, and i don't fault anybody for letting their frustration show.

When it comes to talking about academic matters, the tone of the words don't matter to me. Angry, happy, etc, i will engage anyone who is willing to have a conversation about the topics i care about.

Also, i try to come off as a little bit vapid if i can, just to try to get people reacting. I'm thrilled that it worked. People love a show, and if that's what they need to start thinking about the topics i care about, i'll happily martyr my image. LMAO all according to keikaku
