🔄Repost @wolftracker • • • • • • To continue on with #wolfweek2020– here a gray pup and a black pup (born in April of 2020) approach the “third mother,” also known as the 2 year old female. This mother was born in 2018, and is a young female who has done an excellent job of keeping the pups alive this year. SWIPE to the second video and turn the VOLUME UP to hear the most beautiful serenade from some of the Junction Butte pups as they contemplate crossing the road. Often times, both the bears and wolves feed on carcasses simultaneously. Sometimes the wolves chase the bears away, and sometimes the bears win the fight and get to feed on the carcass. Here we have 3 large grizzlies on this bison that had fallen victim to the rut, while two wolves ~patiently~ wait to get their share of the carcass. This time of year, the wolves and bears are mostly scavenging, so they allllll come in to feed when the opportunity presents itself! . . You can see him leap over a small pup at the beginning of the clip. How adorable?? Each day the pups get braver and continue exploring their surroundings. It’s so fun to watch them grow up! They were born in April so they’re just a few months old! Head over to www.wolftracker.com to book a private tour for an epic day in the park! . . These 3 black yearlings belong to the Junction Butte pack, and while the rest of the pack was feeding, these young ones were goofing off and causing mayhem (as they usually do). One interesting thing about the black coat coloration in wolves, is that the black coat color gene comes from domestic dogs! Black wolves also tend to have stronger immune systems compared to the wolves with gray coats! . .
